I want to straighten my hair, but I don't know how.
It would be great if someone could give me some directions!

I think that I can say that most on the board would caution you to really consider your options before you decide to go that route. If you have really decided to straighten it with a flat iron, then hopefully beachbum can give you good advice. Please be carful with it since it can be a major cause of both split ends and deformed hair strands near the scalp. If you really need help and beachbum advice dosent do the trick then I can only suggest going to a decent hair salon (no barber shop or cheap place like supercuts) and ask as many questions as you can get in. Mabey a chemical treatment might be better than a flat iron for your hair. I would guess that if your have thin hair (as in the cross section of your hair, not the ammount) then irons without a temp control may do far more damage than you think. Just be carful if you go through with it and follow beachbum's advice well. Good luck.
