The chat room is intended for use by regular users of the board. To keep out strangers, it now requires you put in your e-mail address when joining chat. Your e-mail address will not be shown to others in the chat room.
If you belong to the Directory of Users, or if you post regularly on the board with your e-mail address, the chat room will know who you are.

I enjoyed using the chat the couple of days I could access it. So, how do I get the system to recognize my email address? Thanks.
Ken
Just use it when you post, like you just did. Anyone who posts regularly will very soon find himself to be recognized.
The same can be said for the system that lets you e-mail others through the site.
Also, if you join the users' directory, that is another way for the system to know who you are. But we don't want to make anyone feel they have to "register" to use the site. Just using it regularly will get you recognized, but you have to use your e-mail address, because that is uniquely yours. We have several guys named Ken.
The chat room and the e-mail system are intended for the gang who hangs out here. The moderators have had complaints of strangers making inappropriate use of those facilities and that is why they've been limited to people known to the site.

Yep
Great Idea Bill I Agree with your doing that as Ive always used my E-mail when Ive entered the Chatroom
