I have REALLY thin blonde wavy hair, and was thinking about getting dreadlocks, but I don't know if you can unless you are black.
you can get them....there just harder to lock up caus there round sstrands as opposed to the oval flat strands that a large portion of black people inherit

i've seen alot guys here with dreads and they look really cool if they are long ...
i've read on some "dread-websites" that it's a lil bit easier for black people to have dreads cos they have generally a different type of hair than white people ...

I think I will leave my hair be, I have to wonder how are you going to wash your hair if its in dreads? the water and stuff will cause your hair to go moldy if it cant dry out. I have seen some asians with dreads though...

if u wear the dreadlocks open after washing and using a special shampoo for dreads (or other helpful things, listed on that sites) u can avoid getting lice and mould ...
advantage of dreads are that (except of looking good in my op) u can "braid-in" or "crochet-in" the fallen out hair (or also artificial hair or other things) and so your dreads get longer and longer (independed of your terminal length) ...
if u have TL, e.g. at shoulderlength, i think its a very good argument for getting them :)

i was looking at a dreadlock site a while ago and it RECCOMENDS that people with dreads wash there hair altho with a special residue free shampoo
about 4 and a half inches or 12cm
Of course white guys can get dreads! And it's not "harder" for whites to get dreads, but it will take a bit more time for them to lock up. Mine locked up pretty good within 6 months, and I didn't do anything to them except wash! (no conditioner)

Yes, definitely. Look at Anders Friden from In Flames - he's from Sweden, and he has dreads. Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall has them as well, and he's white. So it shouldn't be a problem.
