I made an extremely long but (I think) good post on their board as a new thread. I doubt many will read it through but I knew any short angry post wouldn't get it done. Hopefully it will touch at least one of them.

I read through it, and I believe you´re 100% right... but that´s only because both of us have common sense, and a brain which works by itself. Don´t expect any of them to agree with you, I did the same some time ago, posting a really big thread, and what did I get? Childish answers from a simple minded fool named Curt, empty reasons from a know-it-all wannabe called Sean M, and many other stupid comments from dozens of other freaks lurking around that place.
Small people who live in small worlds, all with the same ideas, because of their fear to be somehow different and be mocked by the idiotic stereotypes they spread... leave them be, let them consume one another, who cares?
Take care, and good luck.
I think that sums it up Wishmaster. Arguing with them or talking sense into their brains is futile, best to leave them consume themselves with their small little worlds of hatred and intolerance. It will eat them away and rot them. If you argue with them it is like putting fuel over the fire...
I sympathyze with your need to want to saying something. But this is not new, and those of us who have been here for a while have seen this happen over and over again. When one of us posts over there, invariably, one of them (or more) will attempt to post things here which we will not allow. Unfortunately, that makes our board more vulnerable to "attacks". At least, it means that moderators may have more posts to clean out and keep off the board. We simply will not allow them to verbally attack or argue here. And, btw, if the cue here stacks up with angry posts from them, it will slow down how quickly we get your posts up here!
So, next time, think about venting over here where other guys will understand. You will not change any minds over there. Think about it--if we did allow one of them to post their attitudes here, do you think it would changes any minds about hair here? Not a chance.
I know you hope you have changed some minds there. But, that's about as likely as one of them changing minds here.
Better to let them enjoy their space, and we ours.
Robert
Well, I certainly thought about all that, but I just figured that a post going more in-depth than the average longhair rant might, at the very least, turn some heads in a positive direction, but yes, I didn't expect a great deal of success. In the end, I'm not sure why I did it... I just...did. And I have no regrets. But it's not something I plan to do again.
Thanks, Robert and Wishmaster.
And I figured people here already knew everything I would say in my post to them, and also, it's not uncommon, at least recently, to see ventings about them, so I figured it unnecessary to post here. Whereas I saw the intelligence here, I saw little of it over there, so thus the need to post, I guess. In other words, one of their posts wouldn't have made a difference here because we're already bathed in the light of open-mindedness, as it were, but the effect over there might've been stronger. But then, like you said, it's not a new topic, so...ah. Oh, well. Life goes on, and so does our hair, whichever way it may go.
hmmm i wouldent have though of that...............there are some regular nice people on the buzzboard for sure but why do they go there? its not exactly like they need tips on how to care for the 1cm of hair lol...........i guess its just an apreciation of that hairstyle that they happen to like........hopefully
I just read it. Apart from the sheer length what you have to say is very intelligent and deep - something that all those idiots on the buzzboard don't posses. I hate to say it but i think they will just see through it and will basically ignore it all. Let them think that i'm a druggie, gay, satanist or whatever other crap they can pull out of their unintelligent minds. Let them sterotype us and say whatever they want but if they start attacking individuals on here and stealing our photos that is what ticks me off. It seems there is no peace in life both on a world wide scale and even on a petty message boards. Thanks for trying to talk some sense into them anyways Fallen Angels.
hi,
i personally think it's great that u wrote that text but i also think it's waste of time and energy to post it on that board ...
there are much intolerant, conservative, close-minded people which will respond with either a response like "hey girl visit a barber" or a pic from few guys in barber chairs or other kind of that crap ...
i think it's ok if they cut their hair but i think it's quite not ok if they wanted us to cut our hair - and i think a few of them also would do a forced haircut if they would have the possibility ...
ALH
Ugh. I have done that already. Posting long messages on the buzzboard.
I liked the post. I didn't think it was too long as it was very readable. However, it's probably best to stay away from the buzzboard altogether. From the few times I've looked at the site, many of the members seem to be total psychos.
What makes this site so much better is that we don't get hate-posts from people who are probably prejudiced against anyone remotely different from them.
when you were growing up, and your mom said not to go across the street and play with those bad kids, you know the ones you always get into trouble with and get in fights with?
This is the same thing.
Do you think it'll do any good?
as frightening as it may sound I've worked for people who were in a management type position and who held similiar beliefs to those guys on the buzzboard. maybe not as extreme, but their views on longer hair were in contrast to the ones presented here on this board.
now, if we just had more long hairs as leaders in the business community things could change for the better.
maybe one day.
The only thread I could see there (right now) disparaging long hair was one saying that anyone with hair longer than number 2 was a girl. I don't take that kind of thing seriously. I think it was aimed at their own members with hair only slightly longer than that, and meant as a joke. I think your post is a bit of a rant, although I dare say you were probably provoked. It's not really worth it though.
There's also an interesting thread over there about the beginnings of long hair with the Beatles and the Beach Boys, which is surprisingly neutral and is interesting because they seem as surprised as we might be that these lengths were considered to be long at the time. It's also very accurate in pointing out that the Beatles haircut originated in ceasing to grease the hair and slick it back, although not accurate in why they adopted that look (in fact it was an idea of one of their girlfriends).
On reading earlier threads, I see that the post that originally upset you has been pulled out by their moderators.
Your wishes I am sure were most sincere, but really, what's the point in even bothering with them. Please remember that this is in no way a put-down aimed towards yourself, for how were you to know? You seem to be very intelligent.
Them? ................fill in the blank(s).
