Seeing friends is always good, seeing longhaired friends adds to the fun, and adventuring out to see them under a snowstorm warning makes it even better. On Saturday I had the great pleasure of seeing Chris G and Steve NoVA again in Washington, DC.
Every time I see Chris I am struck by how beautiful his white forelock is. I want all the white hair I can get so seeing his makes me want mine now. Maybe it is just because I am used to Chris' photograph here that his hair seems to grow fast since it is always longer than his pictures. Steve's hair is longer than his posting picture too and he looks so different with his beard. There is something so nice about greeting him with a hug and feeling the ponytail down his back. (I'm looking forward to the day I notice that with you too, Chris!)
Even apart from their hair these guys are fun to be around, I enjoy voices and listening to them speak is such a pleasure that is missing in print here. The sound of laughter is another great reason to get to see people too. Seeing the many colors of their hair in sunlight is also a draw though I can't say that happened this time.
The three of us met up with some people from The Long Hair Community board and toured the U.S. Botanic Garden, National Gallery of Art, and peeked at the National Museum of the American Indian. We got a little educated about orchids, spotted plenty of long hair in art, and realized next time we must go back to the American Indian museum to get a full look around with lunch at the cafe specializing in traditional dishes. Over coffee we watched the snow begin to fall (rather than the disapointing rain of earlier) and then headed home to get happily snowed in for the evening.

I was able to find a photo of my favorite painting from Saturday. I kept noticing long hair in the paintings at the National Gallery but this one of Crow warriors drying their calf length hair really stood out.

Second, to everybody else, Elizabeth has the most fantastically long hair! It goes way beyond what you can see in the pic. (your avatar doesn't even hint at the length of your hair, Elizabeth)
Thanks for sharing this great experience. All three of you have great hair. I had no idea your hair was that long, Elizabeth! Congratulations!
Wow, I had no idea anyone else on the list was that close. I live only a hour-and-a-half or so south of DC.

I didn't know you were in the area, either. We should get together sometime, email me if you like. I am a big Tolkien fan, too!
Thanks for posting the picture and certainly a fiesta of greating looking hair from all 3 of you. As you may know myself Edgecrusher and hairmonster did the same last summer and had a great evening.
Let's hope therw are more of these.

Sounds like a blast!
Anyone in the Boston-Worcester area who would like to get together?
*Starts humming Cheers theme tune*
Great Day Indeed !!
All three of you look wonderful and I am jealous of your reunion and adventures.
...Elizabeth!
Sure hope you are going to be near Death Valley again this
Spring (although we have not had any rain this year...the wildflowers will be in bloom). Remember, we want a photo of you wearing White Tail's Hat !!
Thanks for Sharing
Hi Elizabeth,
I think that it is great too see longhaired people from this community meeting up in real life. Infact Deanof316 lives in my city and i will definately be meeting up with him one day when i have a gig or something going on.
Glad to see you all had fun and got to socialise and stuff.
Every time i see Chris' hair it looks longer and longer. He is blessed with great progress and growth and he will be a longhair in no to time.
SteveVa has incredible hair and beard too, no doubt about that.
Elizabeth, i didn't realise how long your hair is. Your avatar pic is a bit misleading lol, i thought you had like shoulder length hair. Those braids are awesome, lots of years of experience i can see. Infact your hair is so long the photo cuts off before the ends of your hair!
Thanks for sharing the photo and glad you had fun.
Very nice!
Great to see you all together.
