Hey. Anyone who lives in the UK, have you noticed that Morrisons seems to have alot more long-haired people than any other supermarket? Alot of the young male enployees have ponytails and sholder legnth hair. Also alot of the customers seem to have long hair aswell. Is this the same where anyone else lives? Its nice to go there and be among so many other long-haired people, like you all have long-hair as a common interest.
Take Care.
Dave
Cant say ive noticed that, ill have to look out. I work in a Somerfield.
I havn't noticed so in most supermarkets. I think alot of places that involve contavt with the customer are very conservative. I hate to be agreeing with the buzzboard lol.
well in that case it seems Somerfield dont really care then. There is another longhair who i work with and we have at least 2 regular longhaired customers. Also ive seen longhairs in other Somerfield stores as well, never a manager tho.
Yes I've seen that and you won't get that at Wairose as they frown with people longhair and you won't find anyone with a beard that's for sure.

Longhairs working in both my local Morrisons and Somerfield!
Mogh
As they say in the commercial "More reasons to shop at Morrisons"!
My local Asda (in Harrogate, N. Yorks) is full of longhairs - staff and customers - whereas Waitrose isn't (mind you, I'm surprised they have any customers given their crazy prices).
That's what you get for a "Royal" Berkshire based company where the people in this part of the don't baulk at the prices!!!

Surprise surprise, there's a Waitrose in Harrogate. Never actually been to one at all. If it was a newspaper, it would be the Daily Telegraph
don't see that many longhairs at the morrisons in lincoln. haven't seen any working there. the asda near where i live in leeds has a few though.
i reckon tesco's the worst place for longhairs to shop or work. they're very strict with dress codes and that
being a poor student, wouldn't know about the posh shops like waitrose and marks & spencer. i'll just assume that they're pretty hostile towards us, given the social class of their customers.

will out any lecturer as a fascist if they mark my essay down
What sort of jobs are friendly towards people who dont have short spikey hair and a shaven face?
don't really think there are that many. i know journalism isn't (which is bad for me because that's what i study). only way i could really get in is if i set up my own publication
jobs in the IT sector are longhair-friendly (ask john.b), and the arts are pretty good. science is as well, but not the dress-code obsessed media
No! :( im going into the media industry. i thought it would be one of the only places where they dont care as much (asl ong as your not an actor or tv presenter). Am i compleatly wrong then?
well, you'd be fine if you wanted to go into freelance journalism, or doing something behind the scenes.
i'll make a go of it, and so should you man. what is it you want to go into?
Itll probably be video production or possibly advertising.
Well - As far as i can remember I have never actually seen a longhair working or shopping at Tesco's.
Again - not actually seen any longhairs, but... I'm a Marks & Spencers customer and a longhair...
I envy your country.
in this state where I reside the grocery store chains such as Publix, Kash 'n' Karry, Albertsons, and Winn Dixie require short haircuts on all their male staff.
if this wasn't the case I would've gotten a job in one of their stores by now.
I worked at the Deli in a grocery store for 5 years and me and my co-worker(we're both in our early 20's) both had long hair that we had to tie back. There were many long haired customers that came in as well.
