Hi guys, I was just wondering if there was anyone around here from Argentina, or perhaps from South America, either male or female.

well, I am NOT from South America, sorry (I am from Germany), but I would like to ask you a question about that topic:
Sometimes I am on vacation in the caribic or latin america area and I almost never see longhaired males (beside indian natives maybe) there.
So I wondered about the cultural background. Is the typical "machismo" culture in South America only a cliche or are men with long hair there really considered as "gay" and are longhaired males not in the same way accepted like in liberal areas of Europe or the U.S. ?

That's interesting because many South American soccer players have long hair.
Having said that, I've been to Morocco and didn't see any long haired guys, even though a few of their players do.
I'm not into watching football much at all, by the way!
They are just as accepted, and the "Machismo" you speak of isn´t a subculture or anything like that, it´s just a way for coward men to hide their fears and look like tough guys... but it´s not very common to see that kind of people anymore, at least where I live.
As CTB said, lots of Soccer players around here have long hair, as well as many actors, models, and other famous people. Sadly, the preferred style for everyone seems to be some kind of semi-long hair, which is usually spiked on the back of the head and glued to the forehead, all this with a lot of gel.... looks very dirty IMHO and using all that gel is a sure way to quickly end up bald.
