New guys be sure to check this out for easy reference to common questions.
R.A.Q. list of repetitive questions
That's a great site and all, but you must realize that unless this thread can be peperpetually affixed to the top of the message board ("stickied" I believe is the term), newbies are not likely to see it. In a few days, heck a few hours, this will be beyond the ken of many a new poster.
We need a way to force the newbies to see it, in other words, or it's almost pointless. The tiny contingent that'll actually see it is nothing compared to the sea of posters of that won't.
Bill Choiser's "FAQ" and Hair Religion's "RAQ" are the two main resources that a newbie should read before even posting on here. This will avoid the same old questions being asked over and over again.
Fallen Angels - I know what you mean about people not knowing about it but it is in the "Links" section. Or is that not enough? Maybe we should put a big banner at the front of the site that says "READ THE DAMN RAQ!" LOL!
lol well that's not such a bad idea...
But seriously, how many newbies are going to read the links? Most new guys just find the forum and hit "Post"...
Seriously, it's a brilliant idea to put a link to the RAQ at the top of the board. Something simple like: "New to the board? Click here for answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about growing your hair." In reading the RAQ (great document, by the way), you'll find answers to fully 10% of the posts on here, and to probably 50% (or more) of the questions posted by newcomers. It would probably ease the frustration many of the newcomers feel when their questions aren't answered in full, or at all.
Moderators?
Cheers,

The mods are pretty content with the way things are, which is why I post a reminder now and then...especially after seeing a barrage of posts that are already in the RAQ.
Hair ReligionI think you should post a link to websites that has to do with christian legalism. The thing is lots of people get bugged by people who thinks you can't have long hair cause its ungodly... and they need to know that Jesus does not like religious legalism.
If you have a specific link to a page that deals with that topic then send it to me and I'll review it to see if it'll fit in with the RAQ.
Some of those have been posted on the board over the years but I didn't bookmark them as I didn't want to get too far into trying to promote one particular view, especially when it comes to using a belief system as the basis.
