last night when i fell asleep, i apparently fell asleep with CNN on...this morning as i woke up, on headline news i noticed a long haired reporter (pulled back in a pony tail half way down his back) doing airport traffic delay reports...he was in the studio, not "on assignment" which makes me think he is a regular in-studio kinda guy.
BUT i can't remember his name!!! anybody know who i'm talking about?!?
i was pretty astounded...to see a long haired reporter on national television? yeah!!!
That is pretty uncommon to see in the media industry.
I don't know about the USA but in Australia every female reporter has a short hairstyle. Most have these crappy short bob cuts or a maximum of shoulder length, layered hair.
It must be a particular image or look that the media industry is looking for. It is the same across all the channels. As for the male reporters, there hair is almost non-existent.
Actually that's not true. Natalie Gruzlewski, who appears on 9 Gold Coast News and the Getaway programme has long hair. I notice she often reads the news on the Gold Coast and she has her hair in various poses. Sometimes the left side forward and the right backward, sometimes the opposite, and sometimes both sides forward.
And I'm sure I've seen some other long hair female reporters, but admittedly no male long hairs.

dont you know girls have more freedom these days? they can wear hair at any length, they always have advantage in divorce cases, they can have same sex partners without the same social stigma as men. Also they always have the advantage when it comes to sexual harrasment, like if a girl rapes you (it happens time to time) YOU get in trouble, because you are a male.
That's pretty cool, you just don't see that kind of thing around. Especially not on TV, let alone the NEWS! Haha
I know who you mean. (Rally Caparas is his name, he does not
work for CNN, rather he works I believe for one of the
Travel web sites - Travelocity.)
THAT"S IT!! thanks for the name nick!
