What are some of your favorite long hair milestones--the lengths that are hair growing goals or lengths when you notice your hair is much longer?
Milestones I like are ...
when your hair is long enough to fall into your eyes.
when your hair reaches the shoulders.
when your hair is long enough to tie all of it into a pony tail.
when your hair is long enough to get caught in your pants when getting dressed.
when your hair can hit the ceiling when throwing your hair back by standing up fast.
when you can sit on your hair if you lean your head back.
when you can sit on your hair without having to lean your head back.
when it stops getting longer (reaches the maximum length).
When you can bite your fringe is a good one.
Other important milestones:
- when your hair tickles at your back and chest although you are holding your head straight (so it must be lewo shoulder length)
- when it gets caught in t-shirts and sweat shirts and doesn´t come anymore once you are fully dressed
- when it reaches below your shoulder blades
- when the portion of hair below your shoulders is longer that the portion above it
- when it covers more than half of your back´s length
The most moving milestone for me:
- The first time a stranger called me a "longhair".
To hear this from a stranger meant that "I had arrived." The comment had me grinning from ear to ear for the next two days. :-)

When you can hide behind your hair instead of wearing a bathing suit. ^_^
Miaka.
- The first time my Spanish speaking friend called me: Pelo Largo
The name stuck.
When your hairstyle is wider than it is tall!
I've run into a new one recently. My hair is now long enough that it sometimes gets wrapped around my biceps. I still haven't figured out how it gets there. And it only happens on the left side. My hair goes down my back around my left side, between my arm and my chest and then around my arm. If I figure out how this happens, I'll post an update.
My hair is long enough now to sit on without leaning my head back. I sometimes have to readjust my posture after getting in the car because of this. Someone pointed out at one point that one thing you can do with it is sleep sitting up because your hair will hold your head up if you lean back on it. This doesn't work for me because my jaw flops open when my jaw muscles relax. I haven't tried holding my jaw shut with my beard yet. That's too weird even for me.
