Now it seems like the layers are different lengths everywhere and anywhere. My biggest issue is that I have a hairline that is kinda shaped like a 3. I dunno. It makes what appear to be bald spots, when I'm actually not going bald at all. I just don't know what to do with it.. it's starting to touch my shoulders again, but it looks nowhere near as good as it did before.
I've had this hairline problem since I started growing it long and it seems to get worse as time goes by. I'm constantly trying to rearrange my hair on the top of my head to cover the spots.. it looks really bad, but I love my hair too much to just chop it off. It looks great from the front, but every other angle looks bad.
I just wish I knew what to do with it.. it really upsets me.
your hair in this current picture looks fricken sweet, I don't know what you're talking about.
I, however, do have the same hairline problem that you mentioned; I was thinking it would look better as it grew longer. I hope I don't have the same feelings/experience as you?
Hi PinkFloydFan85,
I think your hairline is great - that's a full head of hair! You're still doing tons better than William Shakespeare, as far as that goes. Juts let it grow further, relax, and enjoy it. You're a great looking guy from any angle. Why don't you just post some current pictures from the side and from the back to get some more honest comments, if you feel like doing so.

Your hair looks fantastic to me. Whereabouts are the bald spots on your head? I have one at the crown of my head, which has basically always been there, but I'm noticing it more that I'm growing out my hair. It bothers me, but I'm trying not to let it bother me too much.
They're both on either side, just about my temples..
Nothing....and don't let it. I know how you feel, my hair is really thin with a ponytail of about 2.5inch diameter. I too had the temple 'bald spot' thing but now my hair's longer it's not a problem most of the time.
Your hair looks cool, and other than perhaps fellow longhairs I seriously doubt anyone would think twice about its thickness. Nobody cares about hair but the owner. Quite alot of longhairs I see at gigs have hair like ours and I don't even notice until I find myself staring at their head when they're in my way. One guy in particular last week had super thin hair and it was nearly to his waist. And yes, it still looked awesome.
At the end of the day, while it isn't my ideal head of hair, it's me. And that's the only thing I can be. I've cut like 3 hairs since September 2003 and I'm not about to cut ay more any time soon. Don't let it stop you either.
Good luck with it,
Matt
Wow, your hair is simply OUTSTANDING!
the pic you posted looks great. unless a whole lot has changed since then, then you have nothing to worry about. some males experience a bit of MPB at an early age. but this doesnt mean that you will go bald. this hairline thing you speak of could very well be as far as it goes. good luck and keep it growin.
It just freaks me out because my dad is BALD.
He had long hair when he was a little bit younger than I am,
so it's really scary to me. My mom's side of the family is
better with MPB, and although her dad didn't lose his hair,
her mom sort of lost a bit.. so I don't know if I should
worry or not. As far as I know, I should be in the clear,
as far as genetics go, but I just can't be sure..
I'm still paranoid about it.
Your hair looks really great, and I wish I had it! The 'bald' area really isn't noticeable and it's probably nothing to worry about.
On a regular day, it can be really noticeable.. I'll take some
normal pics later after I've showered. Speaking of which,
I might start washing my hair every couple days, starting today,
if it goes well. My hair usually reacts badly to not being washed,
but I'm going to give it a try. My hair gets really oily after
just one day and it seems really excessive. I usually just dilute
my shampoo and wash with cool water to retain some oil, usually
letting it air dry as best as possible. But I read somewhere
here that combing while your hair is wet is a very bad thing to do.
I'm kicking myself for that one! :P
hmmm...it is evident that you do have quite a high hairline. I myself have a high hairline but my thick hair covers it. My dad is a shiny dome but my mum's father has a full head of thick , strong hair at 74. I have my mum's hair and physical apperance genes. Although i have the attitude and mentality of my father.
So don't worry, just cause your dad's bald doesn't mean you will. Your hair looks great so keep it growing. Maybe a side-part will help to reduce the bald patch near the demples.
Okay, I think I've figured it out.
The hair along my hairline there is lighter in color,
and much shorter. For quite a long time now, I've been washing my hair fairly roughly, though it seems to turn out just fine, but in reality, though the hair is soft and shiny, it's actually very fragile and thin. So, starting today, I don't wash it as hard, and I'm already seeing a change.. hopefully this with strengthen it.
Dude, we're hair line twins!
Except mine's worse and has white hair included in it!
Seriously, it looks fine to me. Hope your hair grows back as long as you want it.
I wouldn't worry too much about it personally, but it can be disconcerting to be used to seeing always long hair all thick and everything at the front, but you have a very unique look going with your hair.
There is no rule that is conditional with one having lots of hair on the front as a requirement for longer to long hair.
Good luck, Bragi
Rather than 'worse', I should have used 'higher, further back, or something else.'
I meant in no way, shape, or form to connote negativity. Sorry.
You don't have a bad hair line. Just higher. Sorry again :-]
See ya later, Bragi
No worries dude. Thanks for the support! I worry about it a lot but it's not as bad as I complain about it.
Your hairline looks fine - maybe higher than ususal.
Just relax and enjoy your own unique features, and let time heal all of the past bad decisions. You have great hair!

And if you guys are wondering what evil place made me cut my hair, it would be Fry's Electronics. They are long-hair unfriendly. They asked me if it was religious and I was on the verge of saying yes just to get them to go away.. but I didn't. I was only 18 at the time, and I was bad at standing up for myself.. so I just went along with it. Not to mention my parents would have killed me if I turned down the job because of that.
Just keep it growing - it will improve !!
Beautiful hair, dude !!
Thanks for the support! :)
I took some more pics just now, but I've gotta head out.
I'll post them when I get home.
Very beautiful, straight, shiny hair. Excellent quality.
You have an androgynous look going which looks great IMO.
I don't think you have a problem with the hairline. I use volumizing shampoos and conditioners though, for more body.
I wouldn't worry too much about your hair line. I think we always look at the things about ourselves (or our hair) that we don't like, and miss the good parts.
A friend of mine also has this '3'-shaped hair line. But at his length (I'd say it's currently about mid back) you can't see it. Just wear your hair down or in a looser ponytail, without pulling the hair on top of your head all the way back (I hope you know what I mean... can't really explain it in English).
Oh, and great nick! I love Pink Floyd! (and my DSotM sweater I'm wearing right now :-) )
