Greetings all... Figured I would report in. I have been without internet at my house for about 2 weeks, and not sure when it will get fixed. Anyway, I'm using a university computer...
Anyway, I have been busy with this years production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at my school of which I'm the guitarist. There are 8 performances, and we just finished our first 4 (thurs. Feb 16 to Sun. feb 19), and we have 4 more starting this thursday through sunday. It's a lot of work and time, but the show has been going great thus far with lots of good reviews and one sold out show so far. For anyone not familiar with the show, it's a rock opera based on the CD released sometime around 1970. Of course, everyone tells me I should be jesus (who has short hair in this production, although he's an amazing actor), and even though I DID think about auditioning, I have much more fun sitting in the pit rocking out...
Lots of excellent progress pics... Hopefully I'll be back online soon.
Later,

That's really cool Ardroth! Congrats on the shows success so far.
That show did have some amazing songs in it, very powerful pieces. I don't often think of "rockin out" in the orchestra pit!
Hi Ardoth,
Sounds like a lot of fun. Although i have never seen it, the concept sounds interesting. So you're a multi-instrumentalist?
Be sure to gets some photos up if you wish. It would be cool to see Ardoth playing guitar to a large audience with his awesome mane flying everywhere! :)
Sounds like great fun, Ardroth. I remember the release of JC Superstar. It was either hailed or damned. Here in the Bible belt, it was feared and therefore damned by a lot of folks, but a few liberal arts colleges near where I lived actually did productions of it. That, of course, peaked all of our interest. I was only 11 at the time, but I remember it clearly.
And, you made me laugh. There was no CD released in 1970. It as an LP--long playing album, made of vinyl, probably, requiring a huge-sh sterio to play it on.
Nothing compact about it. Though, shortly thereafter, for a short while, you could get it on 8 track tape! :)

Yeah, actually, this past sunday 2 folks walked out at intermission saying "this is the most sacreligious show ever! It's supposed to be about Jesus Christ and there are girls walking around in BRAS!"... we all had some good laughs at that.
Haha... glad you caught that, I didn't even think about it! That is pretty funny. Thanks for the correction.

Are bras sacreligious? Maybe they were feminists from the 70's? (haha)
Are you at UM Orono? I read an article about that production. Break a (belated) leg!!!
