I searched the archives but i didn't find any solid information on this topic.
As most of you know by looking at my recent progress pictures my hair tends to get frizzy. While i can live with it i would prefer if my hair was perfect and without frizz. It's really not that big a problem, just something i could reduce i suppose.
I'm thinking that maybe my water supply is causing this as this has been mentioned before. I live in a metropolitan suburb. I might buy a bottle of water and pour it over my head and note the results. LOL. Not joking. If it helps i can buy a shower filter or something like that.
Since my hair tends to frizz mostly right after i have a shower i'm sure this is the cause.
What about those anti-frizz shampoos people keep mentioning? Do they work well and do i need it?
Any other tips/secrets/methods to reduce this problem?
Thanks guys :)
I suspect my hair is very similar to yours. I've had pretty good
luck with monoi oil, which is basically coconut oil with some
scent. It only takes a few drops each time.
Hey 80's, similar problem
Garnier Fructis Smoothing Serum really really helps. Although it may appear you hardly get anything for your money a little goes a long way and is very helpful indeed.

"Perfect" What a word!
What is perfect?
Try some Frizz-ease by John Frieda, some L'oreal melting gel, or some coconut oil.
Probably won't yield a perfect result, but maybe it will be less frizzy.
Later, Bragi
I'm gonna buy some 100 % coconut oil from ebay to achieve the lasting 'wet' look. If this helps reduce frizz then that's an added bonus :)
hi, well to stop frizz i use , as the others said, a frizz prentor spray or serum, to be honest i think john frida products are very heavy and weigh ur hair down, but depends on ur hair type. But i have just bought the therma glass straightner from Babyliss which is fantastic for getting rid of frizz, and i dont really really straighten my hair with it, once i have blowdryed it how i want it i just really quickly run the straightner over to get rid of the frizz which works really well, so give it a try,
Ben xx
You might give what I have done a "try" just in case it works with your type hair.
1.) Rinse both hands and leave wet.
2.) Put a very "small" amount of gel in one hand.
3.) Rub both hands together.
4.) Quickly use both hands and run them over the frizzes. One cannot even tell that gel (because of the small amount) was ever even put in your hair. But, it holds the frizzies down quite well and lasts too.
Hey 80's_Metal, I did answer your other post further down the board. Using filtered water for your final rinse should help. Keep growing your hair, it will improve as it gets longer.
Absalom
I read your post Absalom. However i think it is very impracticle to shower or bath and then have to run downstairs into the kitchen to use the filteration system. Maybe if i got a large milk carton or something i could fill it up before i shower, take it upstairs to my bathroom and then use it too rinse. Bit time consuming.
I think getting a shower filter would be a good idea. I got one a few months ago, and my hair and skin both seem healthier now.
Sorry for going slightly off topic, but where did you pick one up, how expensive was it, and what brand would you recommend?
I'm gonna experiment with filtered water rinses and if that doesn't help im gonna try some coconut oil(since i want cocnut oil for the wet look 2). Thanks for the responses guys.
