I've had a great experience growing my hair. Not just the hair itself, but also from my family! We do have a lot of Native American herritage, so of course long hair is more than welcomed.
Anyhow,
My mother picked me an interesting device called the Yaman Sonic Brush. It's a scalp massage. My mom is well aware massage is pretty much the only proven thing to aid hair growth, so she ordered me onefrom Amazon!
Just got it, but it feels amazing! For something that massages pretty powerful, it feels pretty mellow while using it.

That thing looks awesome. Make sure to tell us how you like it. :)
there's one selling on ebay.
sometimes you can get a good deal there, but check out the user's rating first before considering making a purchase.
Yaman Sonic Brush Scalp MassageWell it looks kinda gimmicky but if it actually works then that is great man. Personally, i don't think i would want to put any machines near my scalp. Usually i just rub my fingers through my hair if i want a scalp massage.
Let us know how it goes with it.
Looks interesting and if gives a good scalp massage I can't see it doing any harm.
I have recently starting using some products that are similar to the Shen Min stuff you use (containing polygonum multiflorum), as well as a nice comb touted as being good for hair growth. Well, it is just a comb, but what is special about it is that it's made of wood, is static-free and was designed not so much to comb your hair but to massage the scalp. They tell you to comb your hair as often as you can, especially trying to use it 5-10 minutes at a go to increase circulation. It's reasonably wide-toothed, and as long as you're careful and deliberate in your strokes, I think it should impart very little damage to the cuticle of the hair, since it's often said the old 100 strokes rule is not good. Anyhow I am using it often throughout the day and so far so good. My hair is in good condition. Trying to stick to all the advice I've picked up on the board.

Haha... surre... now if only I had $85-$100 or a mom to buy it for me I'd be all set... heck, I'll just do it the 'ol fashioned way, comb with a wide-tooth, and massage with my fingers. Works just the same...

That's exactly what I thought until I actually used it.
However, There's no way you can duplicate the same type of massage the brush delivers with just your hands. Sure it's an exspensive tool (if you will), but I'm not sure I'll switch back to the old "comb & finger' method when this device works much more efficiently.
A 10 min massage with the brush is more than generous. After that period of time I can feel the bloodflow inside my head. With fingers it takes at least 30 minutes to achieve that feeling.
Of course everyone is different...but I'm sold on this item.
