Hi all, I haven't been posting much lately because I was pretty busy with school. Things are going pretty good, friends and family all have accepted my long hair now. And last weekend i wore my hair in a ponytail in public for the first time, I got alot of positive comments and reactions, especially from the girls I know.
Also, I have been thinking about a trim to get my hair in all 1 length, it looks pretty messy at the back... I'm happy with the length now, so i think this is a good time to get a trim. I'm pretty nervous to get one though.
Anyway, here are some progress pictures:

Here you can see how uneven it can look:
Wow, that were alot of pics, sorry for that..
I think it looks just fine, like any long hair at this length. Personally, I wouldn't get a trim at this point, I'd maybe let it grow a little longer, but if you seriously want a trim, be careful when choosing who will do this - there are stylists who will cut 10 times more than you want.
This is the look of the natural "V" shape. When one grows their hair out naturally without trims this tends to be the shape that hair becomes. Personally, i prefer this look. It does not mean your hair is messy or whatnot.
Looks great! If you want a trim get one.
Good Luck!
Floyd,
That's awesome that your long hair is being accepted. That's a great feeling to know that. That's especially cool about the girls.
I do prefer hair that's one length but I think yours looks amazing as it is. It seems so thick and healthy that the amount in layers is still very full. Perhaps eventually you could cut these out but I think it looks fine at present.
Thank you also for the comments about my hair :)
Hey Jason, when you grew your hair out for the first 2 times you used to cut the back and sides for some strange reason. Why did you do this? Your does look alot better all one length now.
Where you afraid of the 'mullet look'?
I cut the sides and back this time as well. I only let the back start growing long in August 2004 whereas the top was February 2004. When we say 'all-one-length' we mean a blunt cut effect where all the hair stops at one length. It doesn't literally mean every hair is the same length.
My hair wouldn't be all one length now if I hadn't cut the back till August 2004. When I get my yearly trims from this point, they will gradually emphasize the all-one-length look even more as I'll be getting tiny trims in the back.
Don't apologise. It good to see them. Your hair is looking fantastic and I'm so envious of the length. Probably 18 months before I reach that.
It really suits you. Take good care of it - but then it looks like you already do. :)

Hi Floyd,
Cheer up dude, you have much to smile about :)
Your hair is looking superb and must be the envy of all your peers. I think the ponytail look really suits you well and it makes you look more older/professional rather than just a teen with long hair(Most advantageous for a job interview or the like). I don't think you need a trim, it will even itself out as it gets longer. However if your hair goal is shoulder length and you want to maintain your hair at this length then it may be advisable to trim, but other than that i would just let it grow looong. Your hair looks to be really healthy and nice and i love the texture. Thanks for the update. Cheers.
Really good pics brother..
Good straight hair..looks good
Cheers
hi floyd,
wow - after i opened the thread and i saw the pics i thought it were pics of my hair ...
think we've not only the same hairtype and colour - i am also at the same length and my hair also has a v-shape (despite of my too much trims) ...
that similarity is unbelievable :)
personally i think that your hair looks good and healthy (no way of crappy/messy/whatever) ... maybe u think it's messy 'cos there are much longhaired guys running around with 'even-cut' hair - but a good and healthy looking u-shape or v-shape like yours looks much better in my opinion ...
if u really think it's looking messy, try first to use more conditioner and less shampoo (i don't know your hair care routine) before u get a trim ...
your hair looks really great in that v-shape (and compliments of other people seem to confirm that) - personally i would not even-out your hair - it looks simply GREAT !
greez,
ALH
btw: how long are you currently growin your hair ? (i am at 36 months now)
Thanks for the compliment ALH, and our hair does look alike indeed from what i can tell from your avatar . :)

Looks great man :-)
So now you have started wearing your hair in a ponytail in public how will you be wearing it in the future then ??
Axel
I love the way the hair from your temples goes back behind your ears in the ponytail pic - I'll have to aim for that sort of look.
Looking really nice Floyd!
Keep up the good work,
- Oren
Hi Lodewijk,
jouw haaren kijken uitstekend uit! Het is NIET nodig ze te trimmen! (Oh my god, my Dutch is so rusty - I better switch to English... ;-)
Hi Floyd,
your hair looks absolutely great! It's healthy, shiny, natural - I wouldn't get a trim, it doesn't seem necessary to me. - If you still want to get a trim, check with other long-hairs who have gotten trims, they will tell you whether their hair stylists really listen to what customers want.
I'm sure many more girls will give you compliments.
Keep growing!
