I took yesterday and today off from work, and I was channel surfing today when I came across a show on MTV called "There and Back."
It's about one of the singers in the boy-band O-Town, Ashley Angel. A few years ago, he was the clean-cut guy on the band. Now that O-Town is history, he definitely has more of an edge...long hair, tattoos, a.k.a. Kurt Cobain. His hair is shoulder length, and he really looks better now than with short hair. http://www.mtv.com/music/#/music/artist/ashley_parker_angel/artist.jhtml
On the show I saw today, another of the O-Town members, Jacob Underwood, was on the show. He was always the "bad-boy" of the group, and he had corn rows a few years ago. Wow, today, he has massively long dreads and a full beard.
What's ironic was that both of these guys were working construction jobs in order to make ends meet. The whole premise of "There and Back," of course, is to follow Ashley's attempts to regain the fame that he had with the O-Town group...typical MTV drama...awesome hair, though.
I wonder if the current looks are any more really them than the managed personas of O-Town earlier. Thinking on it I guess tattoos and dreadlocks are not a temporary look developed just for the MTV series. Of course, the tattoos could always have been there too, just covered with makeup.
One last meandering thought among the others, it is neat to know a man can still get work in construction with long dreads and full beard.
