Does it just fully strieghten or is it just an optical illusion?
If it just streightens then does that mean a persons hair (if curly or wavey) if streightened would be the same length as if wet?
thanks
you can stretch your hair when it's wet because it's in a weakened state. it works the same whether your hair is curly or straight. i read you can stretch your hair up to 30% of it's natural length
If your hair is curly/wavy, your hair won't be the same length when wet as if you'd straightened it. It depends on the level of curliness, though, as well as how wet your hair is. I suppose if you were absolutely drenched in water, as in a pool, your hair would briefly show its full length.

I can tell you this for sure... it's not an optical illusion..
...the weight of the hair smooths out curls and waves thereby
showing the hair at its truer length.
It has to do with the way water changes the molecule-structure of your hair. In general, when you wet soft materials, they become a little bit more "liquid" (since they're wet). Molecules are more flexible in liquid states. When materials dry, their molecules come closer and more attached.
Even if you have straightened hair, it'd become larger too when being wet.
