Hi, friends,
A dilemma is posed with me actually and it would be sympathetic to deliver your opinion to me.
Here is the problem: currently without employment, I postulated at several places and my candidature is accepted. Having the hair semi-long and wishing to keep them growing, I wonder whether it is not be likely to see me refusing an employment.
Should I cut them? In the affirmative, if I am not engaged for other reasons, I will bitterly regret having cut them!!!
Here is the dilemma: "to cut or not to cut, that's the question" to paraphrase Shakespeare.
Thank you to deliver your opinion to me.

Lupus,
I don't know how strict employers are on hair policy in Belgium or what your rights in this country , but one thing i do know is that you shouldn't give in and cut your hair for others. If you keep your hair tied up in a ponytail it shouldn't be an issue and i doubt you will recieve any flack over your hair. Since you have shoulder length it won't be too conspicuous and shouldn't stand out, say, as waist length hair would. I'm assuming you have a good resume and lots of skills/experience, so remember that ultimately, this is the most important thing, and what employers are looking out for most. Not the length of your protien strands.
Take care and good luck with your job interviews.
Thank you, 80s_Metal :-)
Don't cut. Wait and see what happens instead.
Hi,
if Belgium and Germany are similar at all in this respect, then I'd say, DON't cut it. In most fields today, qualification is a LOT more important than "conservative" looks. You'll have an easier time securing a job if you feel good about self, and "comfortable in your skin". - If I may ask, what is your profession or specialty?
Veel geluk / bonne chance!

Hi Hans-Uwe,
I have more than 20y experience in social work, cultural Centers and communication (TV), with an university diploma in adult education sector.
Thank you for your encouragements,
Merci beaucoup,
Dank je zeer,

Hi Lupulus,
with your kind of background you should be able to find work, either in Belgium, or in some other EU country. I know the problem, your kind of work is urgently needed, but in some places, the government doesn't want to spend the money.
By the way, I think in your profession, you are probably more credible with long hair.
Good luck!
Hans-Uwe
You should never cut your hair when you don't want to.
It may of course depend on the type of job, but I don't think your hair will really be a big issue, as long as you look 'decent' and like you take care of yourself.
I have plenty of longhaired male friends, and most of them have a job. None of them have ever told me about their hair being a problem.
