Hi,
Does any on here know if straightening balm is good for people with wavy hair?
Thanks
Carlos
Yes it is. I use straightening balm every morning when I blow my wavy hair straight. There are some brands that are better than others. I have found that Redken One2One and the Studio lines of straightening balm work well for me. It straightens but doesn't leave hair stiff (unless you use too much).
I use it too, on my ponytail. It works well. My method is to comb it thru wet, conditioned, hair. Then I section my hair into 4 sections with clips or elastics.
Blow dry one section at a time while holding it taut. Each section will dry straight and maybe a little stiff. The stiffness disappears when you do the final brushing. I use Anti Frizz "serum" too.
Other products that work with the section-blowdry-while-taut method:
Mousse, light gels, setting lotion, even Aquanet hairspray, if you put it on while your hair is wet.
But the best, most long lasting straight look, comes if I follow the blowdrying with a hot straightening iron. I mist my hair with Studio Lines Hot Pumping Curls, and then use the iron to really straighten it. Any thermal styling product should do. This is probably very drying and even a bit damaging. I don't do it often.
Carlos,
Shoppers Drug sells a straightening balm called ONE. It also contains some anti-frizz serum and works fabulous.
