Well, it works most of the time, I was wondering if anyone else did something similar to this. I am going through my awkward phase and my hair is horribly curly, dry, and frizzy. it is about down to my eyes when straight. I've done it all. Right now I keep it simple and condition every other day and shampoo once a week. but i swear i can still afro my hair out! But only when my hair is wet is when i can take advantage of it to keep it straight since blow dryers just make my hair more damaged and frizzy.
As soon as I get out of the shower I lightly dry my hair with a towel. If I didnt shower i just wet my hair. Then I apply a tiny bit of some type of product to help with straightening and shine. from here i come my hair to the side as STRAIGHT as possible. i comb my sides back and just try to get my hair matted to my head as straight as possible (it looks as if i'm just greasing my hair back to an extreme). i make sure no hairs are sticking out and my hair is still wet, but it is atleast straight. i then apply a beanie/tabgon or a doorag and beanie combo to my head and it has to stay on for a few hours. after that i take it off, then comb my hair down and it is straight and healthy looking! this is easy for me to do because i wear a beanie 95% of the day since my hair is going through this ugly awkward phase and i don't want to show it.
my only problem is i need to find a way to shorten the time i can take the beanie/doorag off. i was thinking about sleeping in the thing so when i wake up i can just comb my hair down and it's straight. i'm still toying around with the idea.
I have a very light doorag.. not like a bandana, very much like a womans stocking lol but i dont even feel its on when i go to sleep and i just wake up and comb :D it works well
this is exactly what i do, except i wear beanie...it has worked very well so far.
