Ive applied and had 3 interviews in the last month. One was a security agency, didnt appear to work out never called me back. Second was at APAC where they kept me there for 3 hours and 2 interviews, just to tell me i lacked job experience in the 3rd interview at the same place. So after that i was relatively mad and decided to just take whatever job came next. So i had a interview at Subway sandwhich place. Interview went fine, the girl seemed to be a bit unintelligent and professional however. I was well over-qualified for this small time job. However they also blew me off. What should i do ? im stuck here lately.
Don't worry about it overmuch Trev.
I have friends who have been rejected from over 10 causal positions, before landing one. Some even more.
This is in the context of the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, with friends who are all around 21.
Personally, I had a few misses the last few months, but have finally settled on working once or twice a week in a warehouse that specialises in lingerie distribution!
All the best with it, and please don't make the mistake of thinking that your hair is the problem, as I have lots of shorthaired friends in the same position as you. It happens.
Chin up alright?
Have a nearby Bingo Hall? I've seen numerous longhaired men working in Bingo Halls.
Hang in there Trevor!
Every "No" you get means you're one step closer to the big "Yes"

Axel
don't be hard on yourself long hair, short hair or no hair
it is hard for any body to find jobs nowdays.
hang in there and keep trying and keep growing
After I was laid off it took me three years to find a job, during whihc time I survived by working freelance, but got a bit behind with taxes. Then I was offered two jobs at once, and less than a year later I have been able to trade that job for a better one.
It can take a long time and a lot of persistence to find a job. It's hard to keep thinking positive because for every job you are offered there are countless rejections. However, you must be persistent and keep trying all the time.
You said yourself that they said you lacked experience, and that is probably your biggest problem right now, but you just have to keep trying until you get your foot in the door somewhere and get the experience you need to get other jobs and move on.
Good luck!

Trevor:
I do not know what happened to my text, but here goes again.
Don't get discouraged and don't cut your hair thinking that will help land a job.
1. Go apply for benefits at the county unemployment bureau/ They will probably reject you, but they usually have job listings, often computer terminals where you can scan available job openings.
2. Take the first job you can get, even if it is flipping bergers at a fast food joint. Later when you get a better job you can list this experience among "cumulative retail experience."
3. Socialize and network. Tell peopl what your abilities are and what you are looking for. Similarly, look out for the other feller.
Best wishes to you.
