Here is my most recent progress pic ... for some reason my hair is starting to get more wavy on my left side and more straight on the right. I am also finding I need to brush my hair daily as it is more prone to getting some bad tangles if I don't. Only washing once a week.

Thanks Oren ... now if only I could commit to growing a beard as manificent as yours. Seems I always end up trimming it back into a goatee style when the hair above my upper lip starts to annoy me. What is your secret?

It's just something you get used to. It actually gets better after a while. When long enough you can style your moustache in a way that it stays clear of your mouth.

It does seem to be growing fast all of a sudden - and I had a trim back at the end of last month. Maybe the natural oils from not washing as much is helping? Thanks for the compliment!

Despite the waves, all is looking really good!
Only a shot in the dark: Could it be that you sleep on the side where the waves have appeared?
That is my favorite side to sleep on - and my hair is not as thick or coarse on that side either.

It's looking marvelous Karsten, and really really long =) Gongratulations... for how long have you been growing?
Been growing this mane since about August 2002 (had it long before but cut it in 2001) ... I went the first couple of years with no trims but now get one about every 8 to 10 weeks. The guy who I go to understands I want to grow it very long and I trust him to cut only what is needed.
Might I say I enjoyed your update pics ... the half-tail looks great, I really like that style. I bet you are a really great big brother too!!!

Your hair looks awesome as usual Karsten... We have similar hair texture I can tell (though different color). I have to comb my hair about 4 times minimum per day, or else it gets really bad... usually when I wake up, twice throughout the day, and then before I go to bed. Also, the hair on my left side is much more wavy/curly then the straight hair on the right as you have said... I have no idea why this is, but it's always been this way... it gets annoying sometimes, but I've learned to get used to it, since it will probably always be that way.

Thanks for the compliment Androth ... and may I add that your hair continues to be an inspiration for me. I am guessing I should be brushing a bit more often as right now I am only doing so before I go to bed. I used to be concern with the hair that would come out during brushing and the ocassional snapping I would experience - but the end result was that I think my hair looks and lays better with the brushing than without - along with less tangling. Guess it all depends on one's hair type and texture as to what works best.

Very, very cool hair Karsten! It looks so good on you, long hair really does give a great impression of strength and vitality, hard to believe it isn't more popular.
Thanks ... I look back on photos of myself with short hair and I feel the long hair is more to my liking. I do think more guys would grow their hair long if their narrow-minded employers would be willing to accept it. I tend to support businesses which allow their male employees to have long hair - and also let the owners / managers know that such acceptance is appreciated.

That is a great idea of giving more support to those businesses that allow longhair on their employees. I tend to go to those kind of places anyway but now I will make a more concentrated effort to do so. Again, a very cool idea!

A little smile--even just a hint of a smile--makes everyone look better and more friendly and approachable. And it may
even add an aura of 'mystery' around you because then people may think: "What is he smiling about?"
Wow, your hair's really getting long now and there's been quite some increase in length since your last update. It looks very nice and the difference of texture on each side gives it some character. :-)
Are you going for waist length? It don't remember whether you had stated what your target was.
