10 months progress [PIC]

Quick progress pic, it's been a while I'm still growing it.
Had the back trimmed once a little bit in Jan, was curling up a lot. Other than that no trims. It's behaving fairly well today.
My hair looks like this at my favourite time of day, when I spend five to unwind and brush out the hairspray helmet look I have during the working day. Sounds strange but I look forward to getting home to brush the hairspray out!
Sorry about the red eye, I'm not the devil (although some beg to differ).

  I know what you mean. Before I could get my hair into a low ponytail for work, I used to use a ton of spray to keep it firmly in place. Looking back on those days, I wonder if I wouldn't have been just as well off using only a little bit of spray to keep the front part from falling into my face and just leaving the rest of it alone. I only say this because I think excessive use of hairspray contributed to some breakage -- partly from drying out the hair and partly from brushing out the lacquer at the end of the day. You have nice thick hair. It would be a shame to damage it and end up with a lot of short broken hairs like I did a few years back.

    I have to agree with this.
    Before I started growing again in January '05, I used to use a ton of spray to tie my hair up with, making sure it was all perfect. This resulted in some damage.
    This actually contributed to me started again and using NO hair gunk whatsoever. Now I simply use shampoo and conditioner and tie it up dry. It tends to fall somewhat but I actually prefer it this way as it looks more natural.

  How's everything out far west in the Blue Mountains?
  That is alot of growth for 10 months. Although the bangs are still fairly short your hair does look it's starting to get pretty thick on the back and sides already. Yay! You are well on your way to becoming a long hair again. Thanks for the update.Jean.

  Thanks for the advice re the hairspray!
  Sprayed pic attached. This is what I looked like the morning of the last progress pic, before I brushed it later that day. (yesterday).
  I should clarify, I try and only wash my hair every 3rd day if I can get away with it, if the weather is not too hot and humid or I haven't been doing outdoor work. Normally I only spray on wash day when I've styled it while its still a bit wet. Generally for the next couple of days after that it holds its shape pretty well until wash time comes around, and I won't use any more until then so hopefully not too much damage will result.

  And finally a pic of what it looked like before I styled and sprayed it, still damp. If I had of let it fully dry without spraying I end up with crazy flips everywhere! (Sometimes I just let it happen though).
