Have you guys tried this method? I've done it a few times now and I really like it. I don't think I could ever go the conditioner only route but the routine of conditioning, washing and then conditioning again really seems to work well for my hair.
I get the benefit of the cleaning effects of shampoo but without the dryness that was apparent especially soon after I washed. I find it takes a lot of conditioner to coat all the hair but I use a cheap one (Suave) for the first conditioning and then use my regular conditioner (Herbal Essences) for the second conditioning.
I was skeptical at first but am glad I gave it a try...
My SiteI don't believe i am familiar with this method. Could you elaborate?
So you are basically conditioning your hair twice, rinsing in between?
You condition all your hair first thing. Then you rinse it out. Then shampoo and rinse and then finally condition again and rinse. The idea behind the first conditioning is that it puts a protective coat over your hair before the shampoo touches it.
sounds interesting.... i have 2 wash my hair 2nyte, so i'll try this out and let u know wat i think, thanx for the advice Jason!
You don't have to rinse out the first conditioner. You put it on your lengths (not the scalp), then shampoo the scalp, and then rinse both out, before using the 2nd, heavier conditioner.
I have been using this method for quite some time now, and I really love it. My hair is hardly ever dry.
Hmm, doesn't affect me because I'm on the infamous condition-only route, but it sounds, well, sound to me. I'll be sure to advise it to people in the future. Thanks!
Ah yes... a bit of washing wisdom from the ladies at the Long Hair Community.
This method usually helps the ends of my hair calm down after I wash before my incredibly greasy teenage scalp has time to make it all stringy and flat.
There is SO much good advice there!
