i have short hair, how long does it take to let it grow until i can make a pony tail.
Last July, my hair was very short on sides and about 2-3 in. on top. I made my first ponytail in May when the heat in Mexico was driving me nuts. I trimmed about an inch off the bottom one time when it was looking rather scraggly (I gotta wear a suit to work in conservative Wash. DC). Now its long enough that it stays in the elastic on a good windy day. So give it 10-12 months if its straight or a little wavy like mine. The problem is what to do with it in the meantime. Get creative with mousse to make it stick where you want when its growing. Use a good shampoo that doesnt break it (get your woman to get one at a salon) Good luck- its worth it, just ask the women!
Five years or so ago I had short corporate hair. I stopped cutting it. A lady coworker braided it today at work. I'm 56 and my tail measures 24" braided, its a few inches longer unbraided. Down to my butt now. Would be longer if I hadn't bought into that trim BS before I knew better.
