Hi!
I'm growing long for the first time, and I just wonder if you should trim parts of it, or let it all go so to speak. I don't know some parts grow faster than others I guess.
the style I'm looking for is something like this: http://student.nackademin.com/dg04211/hair/goal.jpg
Here are a bunch of pics how it's looking so far, not much yet used to cut myself with a trimmer to like 0.5cm.. this is exciting!

For truly long hair (much longer than the hair in the picture you posted) periodic trims are not necessarily the best way to go. They may make things look nice, but overall they hamper your growth rate. The man in the picture does appear to have some layering done to his hair, though.
I'd say if you want to stop at shoulder length hair then it doesn't matter if you get trims or not (to make things more bearable), but that's just me. Shoulder length hair like that will probably take the average person over a year without trims, so keep that in mind too. :)
Ok, so he isn't quite shoulder length but it looks close enough. =P
