I shampoo my hair every other night and grease it down i've been growing it out now for 3 weeks and i'm not happy at how low it is i need help because i want to grow out an afro.

  Interesting this post just came up. My boss's boss and I had a conversation about hair today, and one of the things we discussed was afros. He says it used to be a common practise to put hair in cornrows in preparation for an afro. He also mentioned a product called Supergrow, I think. Is that what you're using?
  In any case, I think you just have to be patient. Hair grows on average 1 cm per month. However, if you're going for an afro, that means that you have curly hair, so, counting the curls, the net growth will probably be only half this rate.
