Just thought I'd post an update at my usual regular irregular intervals :)
Shampooing less often has helped my hair be less dry and frizzy, no more odd white hairs sticking up. Can't wait for tail length hair, I need to borrow some patience from you guys...

Oh, and great-looking hair so far, lol. You're getting through the awkward stage brilliantly, and for only 9 or 10 months (or you just felt like it:P), that's pretty amazing. Keep it flowing.

I only wish I looked that neat all the time, I still feel pretty awkward most times. Too short for a longhair and definitely cast out of the 'typical' crowd, lol.
If possible, try and forget about it. (Easier said then done.) But I sure hear you when it comes to the patience part while growing-out you hair.
And............all of a sudden it WILL be where you want it. Hang in there. Your hair looks terrific!
Its not really a big deal, its fun having hair this length too. Something interesting I noticed from being a member of this board, that when you see everybody else's progress and getting to their , its almost like we all got there together. Our community takes pride in every members achievement. Its great.

I keep trying to kick the habit completely, but every few days I need a fix :) Right now its shampoo one day, skip shampooing 3 days, then shampoo again ad infinitum...

I like your avatar pic a lot too, you have great color and texture to your hair and will have a magnificent mane in time. Funny how other people's hair is always more interesting than you own.
I can't believe I'm inspring to someone! well that is the great thing about this board, we have people at every stage of the game here. There's always someone to look up to and someone you can inspire. You are probably inspiring someone right now too :)

Looking good! As you know my hair is straight and dark like yours. I presume mine will look quite similar when I get to that length, especially since I am also trying very hard to be as gentle as possible, though shampooing 3-4 times a week is something I can't yet avoid. If I leave it longer than 48 hours it starts looking too greasy and, well, not very nice.

Right now I shampoo one day, then skip 2 to 3 days, then shampoo again. I could only start skipping this often just a few weeks ago. Before I was like you, couldn't skip at all, then one day my hair reached "critical mass" and then I could skip longer.
Ur hair is lookin GREAT Chris! I love the way your hair is just resting on ur back and shoulders... the straight hair suits the shape of ur face too. keep up the great work, oh and by the way I don't think any of us have any patience! I often wish I could go forward a year or so, but i guess that's just wishing my life away! :-)

Your hair looks so good now I cant imagine how cool it will be when you reach your goal. Who knows, you may want it longer by then :)
Sometimes when I get impatient I try to imagine what I will look like when I get to my goal, what peoples reactions will be, its fun and usually takes the edge off the impatience.

And I can't say it enough, you have such fantastic hair, I always figured I would just let it grow out at the various lengths from where it was when I started, but seeing your hair makes me wonder if the same length all around is also for me. I have plenty of time to think about though :)

I try to be careful with my hair but I know compared to some people here I think I'm running a "survival of the fittest" contest on my head. Lazyness versus longhair :) OK I'm not that bad...
I know I want a nice ponytail like you've got! Beyond that, who knows?
You're hairs looking GREAT Chris!! I am not that far behind you. About 7 months for me. Glad to hear you're cutting back on the shampooing. I am only washing mine now once every 1-2 weeks and I am seeing great results too. Keep up the good work and keep it growing.

How can you wash so infrequently, Wow I couldnt do that before for even 2 days without my hair starting to clump up some. Do you condition or wet it or anything during the time you're not shampooing? I condition on the days I dont shampoo, maybe I shouldnt do that either.
