I know that there have been many discussions on "terminal length" on the board and i myself have learned a lot about it. But this is concerning me if i'll be able to grow my hair as long as i want to...which is about stomach length(3-5 inches or so below midback).
My hair is quite thick, and it's really full, so im not very concerned about terminal length anytime soon...but i was just wondering what the average terminal length may be? is it common for terminal length to occur at the length i want(stomach/belly button length)?
Don't worry Oleg. You should get to your desired length in time. You said you have thick hair , and you are young and healthy so along as you take good care of your hair i don't see why you will not reach a substantial terminal length.
Although, keep in mind that your genes also predetermines your maxiumum terminal length. Hence the reason why some freaks of nature can grow over 10 foot of hair while the average person might be 3 feet or less.
BTW, i do think your hair goals will change over time as your hair gets longer. If you say stomach length now i bet you will want waist or longer once your hair starts to get even longer.
Well my mother had waist length hair and it was no where near terminal length either... so i guess i can also thank my genes.
Because everyone has a different genetic make-up, much depends on this and is out of our control.
From what you have said I wouldn't be overly concerned either. Terminal in your case sounds very likely to be far beyond the bounds of which you speak. I really don't (or have ever heard) of what the "average" Terminal lenght is.
"If left uncut, hair will usually grow to a maximum of 2 to 3 feet long."
Guiness Book of Records
The above quote is applicable to the majority of the population. There are those lucky few who can grow their hair more than 3 feet long. (Mine is over 3 feet.) Even 2 feet long will reach your waist if you are 6 feet tall. (To reach your waist, your hair needs to be about 1/3 of your height.)
