Hello everyone,
Yesterday, I was at a sugaring off party - a tradition in Quebec where one tastes maple syrup on the snow, along with a hearty meal of potatoes, ommelette with ham, and of course pork and beans which only add to greenhouse gases :)
And yesterday, the mercury shot up to 40 degrees with sunshine, and the streets of Montreal were full of winter-weary people going outside after being shut-in by cabin fever. Lots of Concordia and UQAM students with longish to long hair to be seen on the streets.... as hats come off to spring :)
Have a nice day,
Georges
High!
40 degrees Fahrenheit, a mere 5 degrees Celsius! That's what you call spring in Quebec... poor Canadians!
Here at Cologne, there's normally no winter at all (o.k., this year, it was annoyingly long-lasting), just a somewhat cool and rainy transition between late autumn and early spring, the local dialect even had to borrow the word "snow" from the uplands south of here!
Real summer starts here at about 85 Fahrenheit, and occasionally reaches the 100s... Cologne is often mentioned as "Italy's northernmost town"! And thanks to global warming, the trend here goes towards a truly Mediterranean climate...
See you in Khyberspace!

Hi Georges,
Isn't it a great feeling for us mammals to get out of our little caves and get into the fresh sunlight and air.
Spring is a great season because everything begins to flourish. It also lifts your moods and makes you feel good.
Over here , on the other side of the world we are just getting into Winter shortly. Looks like i'm gonna be cold and depressed for a few months like a hermit ahaha.
BTW, your hair is looking fabulous. Wear your mane with pride and show the world how much you love it.
The first pic is funny with the beanie cap on, it's like a short hair disguise, though you would look pretty wierd if you had short hair.
>as hats come off to spring :)
Not around here. It's been known to snow in March,
April and May. (This is in the US and yes we
got snow in May a number of years ago.)
Right now it is a toasty 31 degrees F here.
Great picture Georges!
That just screams out "Spring has sprung!".
