Hey ya'll, I usually post as "David Jnr." but I have just joined the directory of users and my new username will be "Salidbar" that's the name my friends call me. lol.
Anyway I just have a small question: I have recently started taking multivitamin tablets.. Does anyone know if these help speed up hair growth?
.+. PEACE .+.
your hair in your avatar picture looks great, how long has it been growing for now approx? Annnnnnnnnnd multi vitamin tablets have been said to work for some and not for others but theirs many factors that may make people think they do work such as hair growth spurts while taking the tablets or just the fact that taking them starts to give people a false perception on their hair growth and they believe them to be working when they probably arent. I say take them if you like... if you can afford them etc then your not going to lose anything by taking them. I personally think they dont work and if they did, they wudnt be very dramatic in the rate of growth. hope this helps.
They may spped up your hair growth if your really malnourished but otherwise they probbaly wont. I take them anyway just to be healthy and i think they impove the conditon of hair. Not existing hair but new growth (roots).
Whatever supplement you decide on, make sure you stick with that particular brand & use it for 3-4 months minium. You will not get instant results with the vitamins. It takes time just like growing hair itself.
I've been using Shen-Min Hair Nutrient ($35 a bottle) for about 4 months now. Does my hair grow faster then when I didn't take them? Defintley, but here's the thing. Now that faster speed has become the standard growth rate for me. You still have to the time.
These have mainly kept my hair in check (oil, strength, etc) and I noticed those things more than a expedited growth rate. I think if anything, vitamins keep your consistent, and are a great thing should you not have the greatest of diet.

Hi David Salidbar,
in my impression, high-dose multivitamin (like B-100 with folic acid plus biotin plus iodine) can slow down hair loss (which sometimes is worth a lot). This is especially true if your diet is unhealthy or vitamine deficient.
However, I'm not aware of any systematic study that proves this. On the other hand, companies are a lot more willing to study expensive stuff like rogaine & Co because there's a lot more money in it.
In any case, happy growth!

From what I've heard a healthy hair is usually an indication that the persons who grows it is healthy himself. And this should apply both ways, if you eat the right stuff and exercise both your body and your mind regulary good hair should be an effect of that. Of cource you can't blame baldness or generally thin and weak hair just on the diet or your life situation but it is always good to eat varied and healthy, not just for the hair.
They won't speed up your growth in most cases, but certain vitamins ARE important for proper hair growth. If you're missing some essential nutrients in your diet (like many people are) that the vitamins supply, they should help with that.
Most people would benefit from using a multivitamin/mineral supplement, no matter if they're growing their hair to the floor or keep a #1 buzz. Many, if not the majority of people regularly don't get 100% of the RDI of every vitamin and mineral required for good health. A lot of people I talked to aren't even aware of some of them.
Ive never used multivitamin tablets myself but I will be reading all the answers to this Thread ( Question )
Btw why do they call you Salidbar sorry I can be very inquizative to asking question probably when I shouldnt ! pleased you have joined the directory of users to !

Hi, Salidbar,
Hi, everybody
I take multi-vitamins + oligo-elements + supplement vitamins B + magnesium (our food is often overdrawn out of magnesium) since more than 3 years and here are my observations :
Hair more brilliant, more elastic, less breakable, light increase in growth (actually 1.7cm or 0.7 inch each month against only 1.3cm or 0.5 inch before)
Same report concerning nails : getting stronger, growing faster.
But maybe most important is : greater resistance against the diseases !
David,
It won't make your hair grow faster, but it will ensure that you have what you need to grow healthy hair. A good nutritional program is a long term commitment - give it time and you will see benefit.
