Hey there guys, first post here, great site, ive found some very helpful tips here which is why im posting.
I'm currently 16, gonna be 17 in the summer, and my hair is rather long, about shoulder-length, but the only complaint I have about it is that my scalp hair is rather thin.
I took a bad webcam shot of it but it should show you what i mean: http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/7319/picture2479mp.jpg
Ive been growing my hair out for about 2 years now and I have always had some thin scalp hair, so Im pretty sure im not going bald or anything. My washing habits are that I shampoo every morning (I have to, because my hair gets greasier and more oily overnight than you can imagine) but I dont over-do it, i always use a minimal amount. I condition every few days as I see fit and I always make sure to massage shampoo and conditioner into my scalp but it doesnt seem to do too much. I also take vitamins and eat healthy, the rest of my hair is healthy and strong, but my scalp hair is where its lacking.
All in all, Im just wondering if anyone here has any tips on what I can do to make my scalp hair grow thicker. Thanks in advance!
try washing with a protein shampoo and taking in foods that have protein. eggs and meat are pretty rich in it. if you don't want to do that, then take a multivitamin everyday and you should see vast improvement in your hair as it grows. if you're smoking/drinking you need to stop doing that as well. if you eat too much sugar, you have to cut down. drink more water.
