I have long hair down below my shoulders and am considering a perm. What kind of perm will give the impression of the longest hair?
Probably none at all. Any curl you add will cut down on the overall apparent length. I know it's not a helpful answer, but it's all I can offer.
As a hairstylist (23+ years' experience/100% male clientele) I must agree with Victor: no perm will give the impression of longest hair. As for "purple rods"...all perm rods are color coded to indicate diameter of curl. Believe me, if you come in contact with a stylist who DOESN'T know what you are talking about when you mention "purple rods" you are DEFINITELY talking to the WRONG stylist.
I would say purple rods would give you the longest perm look, also should give you a soft bouncing curls
What are purple rods? If I mentioned them to the stylist, would he/she know what I was talking about?
