well guys its been a great journey i've had some good and bad times but its time to come to an end. my hair is at 15 inches now but in a few days im going to be taking off about 11-12 inches. i just got bored with having it long and its been a major problem with my sports ability (which is basically my life)
i want to thank all of you for your great support you've given me i'm sure i'll be down the longhair journey sometime again in my life but for now... au revoir =)
this pic is the length and style i want

Well, an in(?)famous charity that does wigs for pediatric cancer patients (for girls only, guys are supposed to stick with being bald), reportedly has a lot more hair than they can process, so they are selling off some for money. I personally wouldn't donate hair to them, even if I wanted to chop off 10 inches of mine (which I might do "if hell freezes over").
I Agree, that's true, no matter what you will decide, Matt.
Greetings,
Hans-Uwe
lol get your own saying man lol if hell freezes over is my saying lol Hans-Uwe
Well, Alex,
how about saying "if the Sahara desert runs out of sand", or "if the Pacific Ocean dries out"? ;-)
I've tried to find "if hell freezes over" on the internet, and you must really have made your saying known everywhere ;-)
Do you have other good expressions for "never"?
Hans-Uwe
How about "when pigs fly" or "when water runs uphill"?
Haha there great sayings Btw my user name is Axel not Alex lol ....Yep I know I posted my Username as Alex by mistake further up the board
I can't see the pic, but whatever makes you happiest, dude. Hair is just hair... All that'll ever matter in the end is how happy we were through this thing we call life, whatever it takes. (That can be interpreted badly, I know. lol! :P)

Sorry to hear. Does the 2 week rule still not apply?
You have 12 inches of hair for 15 months growth, that is incredible, please reconsider. I bet after Hans Uwe puts up a post you will change our mind:)
You say your long hair is intefering with your 'sporting ability'. Have you heard of a bun or ponytail?
You don't have to wear your hair out all the time, infact, i would urge to tie it back whilst playing sport to keep it out of the way and restrained.
Long haired athletes are common. 1980's Andre Aggasi, Roger Federer a few years back(i think) and pretty much every soccer player.
I just don't believe cutting your hair off for this reason is valid since there are many ways to restrain your hair and keep the length, in a sporting context.
What do you think women athletes do with their hair???
Reconsider.
Hi Matt,
I agree with 80s_Metal, it's totally unnecessary to cut it off, there are easy ways to control it. However, if long hair doesn't really mean that much to you, then I won't be able to create a "magic post" that's going to stop you from doing what you want to do.
To avoid unnecessary regrets, here's something like a quick "checklist":
Just make sure you have an idea what you felt when you decided to grow it in the first place, or, more important, how likely it is that you will miss your hair, or think "OMG, what did I do" ? Will you be happy with what you'll see in the mirror? And, certainly, the "two week rule" is definitely a wise rule to go by.
Another thing: Make sure there aren't any "posthypnotic" commands lingering in your subconscious, lines you may have been fed by your parents or your peers, or by the media in the 90's, like "long hair is immature", or "you don't look good with long hair", or even "long hair is for sissies", or similar nonsense? Any discrimination earlier in your life if you had somewhat longish hair back then? - Since you posted a picture of a short-haired guy, are you emulating him? - not as if that were always wrong per se. The bottom line is, make sure that it's your own free decision, and not something that has been put into you by others.
The main thing is that you are happy with the outcome, and that, whatever you do, is really YOU. Personally, I'd indeed say "what a pity" if you cut your hair, but I'm not you.
Best wishes,
Hans-Uwe
ponytail works good...or a braid...maybe even an undercut in your case...that way you wouldnt lose all your hair...it would be cooler for playing sports and easier to live with...
This is the only post by this user... what are the motivations of posting an intent to cut as the sole message on a longhair board beyond to get a rise from the users? The user had not shared his alleged growth journey with the board so why bother announcing the decision to cut.
My friends, I suspect you all have been played.
This same person made a post some days ago about this same topic asking for some advice.
I refer the right honorable gentleman to the post made some days ago.
You could still be right though.
No, actually i've been posting here for the past 2 years with questions/replys as well as a few pics.
yes i did post that message a few days ago and i did try the suggestion, however after thinking i decided to simply just cut it all, the reason for me to start growing was to have something different not the same old boring cut. however now i've become bored and a bit frustrated with it long so i think its time for a change.
i was not trying to "play" anyone or get a "rise" from the other users, i was simply thanking them for the time they took to answer my questions give me suggestions etc. no matter how stupid or "noobish" they have been for the past 26 months of hair growth
Well I stand corrected and please accept my apologies.... I occasionally see the one-post wonder troll by and create drama by announcing the cut... I assumed that you were doing that- apparently an incorrect assumption. Best of luck in your journey through life- whatever turns that may take.
