I remember reading some various ingredients that one should stay away from when buying hair care products such as shampoo, gel, etc.
Alcohol is one if I recall correctly. Exactly how damaging is a product that contains these ingredients? Is it something I should seriously be avoiding?
The main reason I ask is I ran out of my usual gel recently, L'oreal Melting Gel, which doesn't contain alcohol. I needed to purchase some more. Unfortunately, Walmart was out or does not stock it anymore, and I had no clue what to get. I ended up getting a Garnier Fructis gel, but when I got home and looked at the ingredients, I noticed "Alcohol" listed.
So, could those of you knowledgeable on this subject share your opinions? Thanks.
hahaha
Stearyl/Cetyl alcohol is used in many hair products, I doubt it is damaging. Probably don't want to use isopropyl or ethyl alcohol in your hair, as they would dry it out pretty quickly. Anyways there are many types of alcohol, all with different properties.
