When you wash your hair/body do you usually shower or bathe?
I used to shower 99% of the time but since i have been growing my hair i have a bath more than a shower. One thing i noticed is that hot water really doesn't help my hair. If i want my hair to look like crap and be ultra frizzy i would have a hot shower. It must be all the hard minerals in the hot water, i don't know all the technical terms but i have heard they are bad for hair. Cold water is much more gentler on my hair and makes it look better once it has dried so that's why i bathe mostly, so i can rinse under cool water. I couldn't possibly stand 5 mins under a freezing cold shower during winter , lol !
Another reason why i like to bathe is that i tend to let the conditioner sink in my hair longer. When i shower it is very tempting to wash it all out as soon as i have rubbed it in, which is just stupid but i do tend to do it. Which do you prefer?

I've never been keen on baths, except once in a blue moon, so shower it is.
According to what I've read, cold water on the hair is better because it makes all the little fins in the hair's cuticle close down tightly. That's what makes it smoother. See the above picture.

Actually, the minerals in the water are going to be present or not whether or not the water has been heated up by the water heater or straight thru from the cold side of the tap.
What I have heard is that the hot water opens up the cuticles and makes the strands more raggedy. The cuticles on the strands of hair under a microscope look like they have shingles kind of all the way down and around the strands. That is why if you take a shed hair and run your fingers down it, it slides, and why if you run your fingers up it, it is more resistant.
So anyway, so I hear, the cold water has the effect of closing up the cuticles of the hair shaft making it smoother and shinier, and less frizzed out as you have found in your case.
I have found too that the all cold water rinse is hard to endure. Lukewarm water rather than hot is a good compromise if you don't want to be freezing when the shower is done.
Bath if I am to not wash my hair (with my hair tied to not make it wet) or Bath + Shower if I do wash my hair (and then my hair untied all through the thing.
Hot water bath + colder (barely warm maybe, I hate freezing!) for the shower. I don't wet my hair much in the bath as I will in the shower. It has given me better results too. It does take longer, but that I don'd mind.
Shower. I havn't taken a bath in ages.

I have to go with "Shower" 2.... i don't remember the last time i took a bath..... baths are pretty relaxing tho but the good thing about showers is that they're much much quicker....
I shower, but I don't have trouble leaving the conditioner in.
Washing and conditioning my hair is the first thing I do in the bath. Then I leave it in until I'm through with the shower.
