well, this is a pic of me wearing my favorite anti-awkward stage hat aka beanie.=) this really comes in handy when im going somewhere casual and my hair is looking like crap. but it is starting to get a bit warm where i live so a beanie wont be very practical in the coming months. i guess ill just have to switch to baseball caps.
on another note, i shaved the beard. yeah, it didnt look so great because, being only 17, my facial hair wont grow very thick like a full grown mans will and it just ends up looking too scraggly. plus, it was kind of making my hair look even shorter than what it is. as you can see i have the stubble going on right now.lol im thinking of keeping some really short facial hair just to look a little bit older.
keep it long guys.

Yeah I just bought a beanie today. Its going to come in real handy when my hair gets longer.
lol, love the color of the beanie, dude. And it totally fits your face. I got a little kid's beanie once because it was under a dollar and my wallet wasn't exactly too green at the time, so I figured it'd be a tight fit. To my shock, it was one of those beanies that stick up at the top...a ghetto beanie lol. I started getting weird looks from adults so I stopped wearing it after 2 days, lol.
And I shaved my own beard attempt off too. Go manly stubble!
lmao. i hate those kinds of beanies too.
and w00t for manly stubble.
That's a nice beanie - You definitely will not have any awkward stage troubles with that.
I think you had a very nicely developed beard for your age in your update last week. At 17, I barely had a goatee.

It looks like you could probably grow a goatee. Man, at 17, I still had my peach fuzz. I didn't grow my beard until 21.
Hey SOAD, nice pic.
You look much better without the beard.
Atleast you can grow facial hair for your age, i'm nearly 19 and i still can't :(
I love beanies aswell. It is getting into winter here so i think i will make good use of my beanies.
I like to wear the beanie but leave the long hairs at the back and side hang down, so you can wear a beanie and show off your mane at the same time. It's a good look. If i wan't to conceal my hair or make others think i have short hair i simply ponytail my hair up and chuck it underneath the beanie. Hides everything. I want to grow my hair ultralong so i can have the best of both worlds. If i feel like short hair i can just tie a bun and wear a hat or beanie lol. It's cheeky and no one would even know you had hair :)
BTW, i saw some old pictures of the band SOAD. These photos were from around 1998 when they first started. I believe they all had short hair back then. Atleast now the singer and guitarist have long hair. The crazy singer had a military haircut and the guitarist had this wierd hybrid undercut hairstyle, if i recall.
Hair or no hair, you gotta love that bassists terminal goatee beard. He even ties a segmented ponytail on it just for the little kids :)
thanks for the comments 80s. and yes SOAD changes their hair a lot. but that long goatee on the bassist seems to be a constant.lol
Hello everyone,
In Québec, the beany is called a Tuque, and is normally worn in winter when it gets cold. They were handy during my awkward stage especially because Montreal is quite windy.
What was more popular in the seventies was headbands, to keep unruly hair in place until it got long enough to tie it back.
One funny fact, was that in the late sixties, guys were reluctant to tie hair in a ponytail, because it was "girlish". By the early seventies, more guys tied it back and were less complexed about it.
Have a nice day,
Georges
"tuque" n'est pas dans mes dictionnaires
Merci en avance, Georges!

It is called La Tuque, and there is even a town by that name in Québec. Even the anglophones call it a tuque.
It is a local term, because in France, the beanie is called a "Bonnet".
Have a nice day,
Georges
