The ends of my hair are a mess. Especially the hair at the front, which should be my fringe, if I had it cut - I don't know what you call it exactly, but I hope you understand what I'm talking about.
My hair is about 40 cm and maybe 20 cm look very well, but the 20 cm, which are the end, are totally messed up and fuzzy. It's very thin.
My hair is not curly or anything, it's very smooth, but the ends of my hair are killing me.
I usualy wash my hair every second day. I start by combing my hair - beginning at the end, working up to the top of my hair. When I get to wash my hair in the shower, I start with shampooing the top of my hair and the scalp, you know. After I've washed it out, I but conditioner to the end of my hair. At the back of my head, I usually put conditioner in the before-mentioned 20 cm ends. With the hair in the front (which could've been my fringe and so on), I usually put conditioner into it all. I keep it for maybe half a minute to a minute, before washing it out.
After the wash, I try to dry it softly with a towel, and I usually comb it with my fingers, letting it hang down to dry the last water out.
Also when I wash my hair, I seperate "front hair" from the "back hair", letting the "front hair" hang down on my face, and having the rest behind my ears. So when I put conditioner in it, it's separated from eachother.
It's kinda hard to describe precisely and grammatically correct, using the correct terms, as English is not my common language, but I hope you understand my problem.
Now, does any of you have any ideas you can give me, about how I make my hair look good, and not as a fuzzy mess at the thin (and also split) ends.
If the ends are as bad as you say, a very slight trim of less than 1 centimeter would make a big difference in the quality of your hair. But, be sure to really check that the split ends are what the problem is before you cut it. Lots of guys cut their own split ends one at a time on their own, but then some others choose to go to a stylist to have it done.
Or, you could be using too much conditioner and having build up on the hair strands which could be causing the frizziness and fuzziness at the ends.
And with 4/10th of a meter of hair, that's about ?20 inches?,
sorry I am from America, some peoples hair will not have the consistant thickeness all the way down the whole length of the hair.
And also, you come from Denmark, is that correct?
Mesmerized who posts here from time to time is from there as well, in the directory of users, perhaps he would be happy to discuss with you in your native language about hair.
If I am incorrect about your country of origin, then sorry.
Tack så bra!

Haha, yes, I'm from Denmark. Good guess. :)
Thanks to all the answers.
A few things I forgot to mention were that, yes, my hair is the same length all around, and also that the "front hair", if you take it from the top and down, seems to be thinner and thinner. At the bottom, there are maybe 20-30 hairs, compared to the hundreds on the top. Also my hair often gets kinda "electrified", if you can say so, and it can look like the last 20 cm of the hair are only split ends. I don't know what to do about that either.
So far, ideas are to either use the right products when washing the hair and maybe get a 1 cm trim.
To the inch issue: My hair is about 15-16 inches then.
I don't think you really have a problem. Even if you say your hair is the same length, it's not. There's always going to be shorter ones that will stick out if you twist it like that. A real split end, is just that, when you can travel down a single hair strand and the strand breaks into two pieces, like a road or an exit ramp on the highway or something.
Hi Tore,
it's probably less bad than you'd think. I'd just use a good conditioner, or something called "anti-frizz balm", a clear oily fluid that contains dimethicone plus cyclomethicone and not much else. That should make the ends better. You also can try to get a trim of just one cm, as Bragi suggested - but make sure that you find a hair stylist whom you can trust. You don't want to lose any length - 40 cm is great. I'd try several other methods first before I'd cut anything.
Maybe you need to grow it longer in the front?
If you feel comfortable doing so, you can always post a photo and ask for more specific comments.
Best wishes, and keep growing!
Hans-Uwe
P.S. Your English is fine - just watch some of the native speakers - even they are not perfect ;-)
