All i realy want to know is how old u were when u first shaved. Im 15 and a half now and im having my first shave 2moz. any tips?
I got a little facial hair about age 12 (two or three whiskers) and shaved it off, and it didn't grow back for months. But I actually started shaving semi-regularly when I was around 14. I did a poor, poor job of it though, going against the grain with a cheap disposable and all. If you're going to buy a manual razor, I definitely suggest getting a decent one with a refillable cartridge; disposable razors are (imo) just awful.
Around 15 was when my beard started to come in significantly; it's also around the age when I learned to shave properly with a razor and cream, but I switched to an electric razor soon after since I still got some irritation. Foil shavers are the kind I use; I didn't have much of a good experience with rotaries.
Ditto the part about disposable razors being bad; they're murder on your skin. I use one of those double-blade manual razors along with Aveeno shaving cream for sensitive skin.
I think I started shaving when I was in my late teens. I was a late bloomer, and even at 31 I only have to shave every other day. I've learned to appreciate that, though.
I'm sorry I dont mean to post it here but my posts arent showing up
I've been trying to register to be on the directory a few times and it's yet to happen. I'm just wondering if i'm doing something wrong that i'm not being added
13
14 for me.
Eh, around 16.
umm i was 13.
get a decent razor. like the gillette one that vibrates otherwise the irritation will be hell.
I was 20 before I had to (not enough to do it before, but it became a problem then). Now I hope the last time I ever have to shave is before my 26th birthday.
Get yourself a nice electric shaver (I like Norelcos, they last for many years) and forget about all the razors, way less maintenance and work, and works pretty well. I've never used a blade in my life to shave, and don't plan on it.
Probably about 17 for me. When I used to shave, I used a Norelco electric.

Well I started a little late around 18 because facial hair was very light in color. I'm 20 now and have only started shaving regularly say once or twice a week. Even now I'm beginning to see more hair filling between the sideburns and lips. Still cant grow a full beard lol.
My only tips dont go against the razorblade I did that when I started and used to cut myself. Follow one direction, only reverse the blade when you remove it from your face. Use sharp new razors because the duller they are the more likely you will cut the skin. It takes some practice to figure out just how close you should keep the blade and how much pressure you should exert while shaving.
Also make sure your face is clean and you cover the areas well with shaving cream because dry or dirty skin will be harder to shave making it more likely that you will accidently cut.
Dont worry you'll get the gist of it soon enough, no one taught me, used to take me 30 minutes to shave the stauche and chin just because I had no idea what to do and would cut too often. Good luck man!
I started at 13 I think.
If your using an electric shaver (as I do) then don't press to hard into the skin because you will get 'niks' in the skin; also before hand you could also damp the face with a wet cloth or something because this brings out the hair to it's full length (but remember make sure you gently dry before you start you don't want to have a shock!)
I started shaving when I was 14. It took me another 14 years to realize it was a complete waste of time. [grin through hair]
As for tips if you really want to do it, you'd be better off getting advice from someone who knows what has come on the market in the last 30 years....
