hey everyone! I was just going through some more of my pics, and though I would post this one, this was last years pic freshmen year and I think was about maybe 3 months into growth, but the things that have always bothered me about my hair and made me insecure was the fact that it was extremely thick! and it curls around the ears to me it looks hideous, but im hoping that if when it is grown long that when I go to concerts I will be able to swing it around, that will be a couple years. Does it matter if I have thick hair? will I still be able to swing it around when it's long or is my theory in-correct?
I think it will look great long.
Don't overdo it with the straightener. You don't want a short term fix to cause long term damage. Heat and harsh chemicals = accelerated "aging" or wear and tear. Treat your hair as you would a fine wool sweater that you want to last for years.
Swinging thick hair around will certainly give your neck an added workout ;)
Best of luck with it!

Yeah dude, thick, curly hair can definitely grow long enough to "swing around" or whatever you wish to do with it. My hair is curly to the point of forming little tubes, but it's growing downwards like anybody else's hair; it just takes a lot longer and more patience than straight hair to do so.
And like Oren said, go easy on the straighteners. I suggest not using them at all, because you might definitely regret the damage they'll cause in the future.
Hey mate,
I have very thick hair, which is pretty much shoulder length now.
You can move thick hair around easily and with length, the curling around your ear does subside a little.
