As some have said, long hair suits most to all face shapes. In my opinion it suits the long or oblong face shape just as well as any other type.
As others have said, many long hair detractors or hairdressers will tell you ((possibly)IMPORTANT: they'll tell YOU, not your face shape i.e if you had a round face, they would say that long hair doesn't suit that type of face etc. Is this a possibility for you?) that long hair doesn't suit you, due to the shape of your face.
You will look great with long hair, just keep it growin'.
My 2c for what it's worth.
(and the picture I've posted here)
As I mentioned in an earlyer post, I feel that long hair, when grown naturally goes well on most faces. Some stylists, can tell you that long hair doesn't go well with your face, and will say that to anyone with long hair to push a trendy new ugly style.
My personal views on beauty, is that no one should be made to believe that they have to look like a top model to get anywhere in life. No one has perfect looks, and those who do are working really hard at it, and the time spent in front of the mirror takes away time for more useful things. My long hair, since it is not layered, is a low maintenance style, but I do wash almost every day. I will spend no more time than your average short hair in front of the mirror. I towel dry, and let it dry by itself during my commute, and by the time I get to work, it is dry.
Those who push the idea that hair has to suit one's face, may also push a very high maintenance style, that will generate a facial exception error after a few weeks, so that you have to return to the stylist to fix that. It is all about marketing.
Have a nice day,

Personally, I think that's stupid. A hairdresser will tell someone their long hair doesn't suit them just so they can make $15 by cutting off years of work and patience.. and learning.
Long hair can suit anyone, but only if they WANT it. And take care of it.
Well I've never really bothered about what my face shape looks like and it certainly had nothing to do with growing longhair. I'm sure alot of people would agree with that.
Still I suppose if it's all one length you can cover your and not and an issue.

Sorry John, I also regard you as 'The John' around here, due to your longevity and advice on the board, and your experiences with long hair.
I guess then that I should have been a bit more specific in who I was adressing this to.
They call themeselves John and posted a topic "long hair looks bad on certain facial shapes?" a few days back.
This post of mine was adressed to them.
As for you...
c'mon, with hair as good as yours you could have any kind of face shape!
