Sigh. Anyone else hate the taper of their hair? The very front tends to creep over my shoulder, and is always just baaarely falling out of my ponytail, despite most of the hair being well well weeeeell past ponytail-able length. And if I went and trimmed it up, it'd be so short... meep. ._. I actually like the shape, but it's like... totally annoying at this length. Yarg.
Comments? Feel free to yell about how your hair was cut/is growing.
Your hair's really all the same length just the hair at the back of your hair is reaching down shorter...my hairs the same way. only yours is quite longer.
I kept cutting my hair in the back while leaving the top for 6 months when I first started growing. Since then, the two tiny trims I've had have only been on the back.
There's obviously no way to make your hair all one length unless you cut all the way up to the 'so far away' line. Of course, like you said, you'll lose a lot of length that way.
I think your hair looks awesome the way it is. If your final goal is to have your hair all one length at your goal marker, you could keep cutting the back in increments so that you don't lose a lot of length all at once. Maybe an inch every 3 months? The layers would disappear fairly quickly that way.
My goal length is similar to yours. It's my aim to use my yearly trims to try to maintain the all one length look.
Dude, you have beautiful hair. It has taken a lot of patience to reach the length you have reached so far. It will require additional patience to reach your low back length goal.
There will NEVER be a time when ALL of your hair will reach the ponytail tie. You always have new hairs growing in to replace the ones you have shed. No matter how long your hair gets, you will have hairs of varied lengths, due to this.
My hair nearly reaches my knees, and yet, I have loose flyaway strands that don't reach the hair tie. Loose flyaway hairs are a part of having long hair.
Again, your hair looks great, enjoy it.
Long hair forever.
Absalom
well your hair grows all over your head and your bangs will always appear shorter because it has to reach more, even if you did regular trims because you lose about 100 hair each day it will become V shaped eventually anyways. If you really want even hair you'd have to trim all the time and they never go past shoulder length (look at the girls with even hair, never seen it go past shoulder) I personally like V shaped profile better, it looks more natural when tied.
Your hair is magnificent without question. It IS growing as it should and eventually ALL will catch-up in such a way that the whole picture will look perfect. Just hang in there as the big break you are waiting for is really not that far off.
The comments below of Absalom are right on target.
Funny, but all suddenly seems to happen overnight.
As for me, my hair was never cut save for removal of targeted "Split-ends" which were causing me just too much trouble a couple of years ago. (This was NOT a trim.) If you click on my photo, you will see just a little over 3-1/2 years growth "untouched" by trims or "even-ups." You will end up with the same. Same? No way. Your hair is far better than is mine. YOu will end up with far superior!
Good luck to you.
Actually, I'm quite fond of mine. It's beautifully natural.
My hair is waist-length in the back, but the front comes to rest just a few inches below my chest. When I wear a ponytail, I've got fly-aways going every direction. Those can't be helped. They're just something to get used to.
Wow, i'm so jealous of your hair. I never realised it was that long and it is very healthy. How many years of growth is that now?
You will be at waist length in no time at your pace.
Your're hair is very natural and very nice looking. In about one year, you should be at your goal length. Just be patient. And don't cut!
