Of course, I am certain many of you already know this, but it seems that the best place to find fellow longhairs is to go to the local metal club (in my case, Jaxx, up in Springfield, VA). It seems that long hair and metal goes to togther like peanut butter and jelly. The first time I've went there to go see a show, once I saw all those black t-shirts and all that hair, I knew I'd fit right on in! :)
Witness this photo of myself (center - with the curly hair) hanging out at the bar after a show with Stratovarius' lead singer Timo Kotipelto (to the right, with the blond hair) and bassist Laura Porra (sp) to the left. Man, was that awesome!
Ahhh NIGHTWISH!!!!!! I am still miffed they cancelled thier tour last fall, though! I so want to see those guys live. Also, no doubt you heard about all the going ons with them firing thier lead singer and so forth. Ah well, I still love hearing the glorious sounds of thier Once album pouring out of my beloved Klipsch speakers.
Anyway, about Stratovarius, I don't know what is up with that. They did something to thier site recently, as in the past, I've had no problems downloading videos and MP3s from thier. I just tried before posting this, and, yup, it did not seem to work.
BTW, cool hair!
Man, you are so frickin lucky dude. You actually met timo kotipelto? THE TIMO KOTIPELTO. "Gasps, and faints". He is like my favourite metal singer man.
By the way, long hair looks super cool on you. Way to go.
Cheers!

Not only that, but I've chatted with him through e-mails from time to time. I tell you what, though - they are the kindest and some of the coolest guys I've met! Lauri Porra was just such a trip to hang out with. I'll also have to get the pictures up from a recent Sonata Arctica show (back in January) when I was out back, behind the club after the show just shooting the breeze with Toni Kakko and the other members. Try that at a typical Rap or Pop concert.
Thanks! Also, if I only had a dollar for everytime I had somebody (especially women) tell me how they would kill to have hair like that! Also, the number of times I've had people tell me how much I looked liked that "Mikey" dude from the Orange County Choppers (American Choppers) show on Discovery. I could've bought myself one of those motorcycles!
Timo Kotipelto and Toni Kakko. Enuf man enuf. Enuf for one day. "cries out loud". I can only dream abt meeting them. Anyway, once you have the pics up, Please share with us. :D
Thanks

Here you go! A picture of me with Sonata Arctica's lead vocalist - Toni Kakko!
that is an awesome picture and timo is an awesome singer, you sir are a lucky man for meeting him!
Great photo. Indeed, metal and long hair go hand-in-hand and always will. Isn't it funny how it is the female in the photo who has the short hair and the guys have the long hair.
That dude has really cool mid back wavy hair on the right.
When i go to a metal concert i usually have the shortest hair there, lol.
Lucky dog...lol
Oh, and cool hair, man. :P As 80's_metal said, you seem to have more waves than curls, and even so, mainly at the ends of your hair. It's pretty interesting, actually - I've never seen hair like that!
Never cut it, but don't eat any untouched porridge or sneak into houses in the woods anytime soon. :P
Terve,
That's a great club....kiitos.
Moi Moi.
Great picture and nice people.
Have you seen "Dragonfarce" yet...rofl!!

Nope, although they are due to play there at Jaxx on May 4th. However, the tickets are sold out, plus I am busy that night anyway. Rather go see Gamma Ray on the 2nd anyway. Better yet, Evergrey and Nevermore on the 7th!
I do have thier Valley of the Damned album, though. I wasn't to terribly impressed. They are alright, but they are no Hammerfall, and definitly no Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica.
