My hair grows longer and longer and though the bad hair phase really annoys me on some days, all in all I'm quite happy with my new look, and I get lots of positive comments on how much better that longer hair suits me. And it feels good! I especially like driving in my car with open windows and feeling my hair moving around - never felt that before.... feels great. And for the first time in my life I'm able to SEE MY HAIR WITHOUT A MIRROR (!!!) as it starts covering my eyes now... how crazy is that :-)

That's what I do almost everyday. Though I must confess I might me spending a little too much time in front of mirrors at the moment, as it's simply amazing what a little more hair can do to your look.

Haha, yeah, that's what many people say to me these days - I don't mind at all, quite the contrary...
Mayba about shoulder length? Not really sure though... the next big landmark is gonna be the moment I can put the hair in my mouth, I'm looking forward to that.

Lookin' very stylish Alex, very classy! Your hair is looking great. It is fun when you make such a change in yourself and go in this new direction. And its fun to look so different from anything you have ever done before. I like when I don't always recognize myself in reflections or glass windows and such, and I'm like "who's that, oh its me, cool!" :)

That's just these photos, before I take them, I normally have a look in a mirror and make sure all is in neat shape... But believe me, after some hours, especially after sweating, my bangs start curling up, not only curls to the side, but some nasty curls to the front like a unicorn's horn - that looks silly, I tell you ... :-) Hope this is getter better with more length. I'm still thinking I'm more the wavy type not the curly one...
I can see you are a guy that is very determined to grow his hair long and is truly passionate about the whole experience. I love reaching milestones in my journey aswell, it is so inspiring to keep growing. It's a great milestone when your hair gets long enough to go in your eyes, just wait till you can put it in your mouth, then you will be able to tie a ponytail and before long you will have awesome long hair.
I checked out the other photos on your gallery(great website) and the back of your head is looking very longish too.
It is looking really nice already, that explains all the nice compliments.
I'm soooo looking forward to that! Even before the ponytail length I think it's gonna be better, at the point the front hair makes a natural part and I can tuck it behind my ears better.
Not all comments are nice: I've been to a club last saturday (the day I posted this thread) and met a musician colleague, not a very close friend. For some reason I felt he was looking at me in a strange way all the evening while we were standing there, drinking a watching the ladies dance, but I couldn't tell why.
Then when I decided to go home later, and went to say goodbye to him, him looked me deep into the eyes and say with a strange, dead serious and pitiful voice: "Come on, get yout hair cut!" - This sort of hit me hard, especially because I think I told him some weeks ago that I was gonna try letting my hair grow, and we even made jokes about the awkward stage's awkwardness and stuff.
I really felt quite insecure and exhausted yesterday anyway - sometimes there are days you should better stay at home and not go out - and on top of everything, this guys telling me my hairstyle sucks. This really put me down.
I needed some more opinions. As pleased as I am with my longer hair, I still need some feedback, as everyone does I think :-) So yesterday evening I had my weekly job as sound engineer in one of our city's live music clubs, and lots of my closer frineds were there. And I frankly asked them: "Cut or let it grow - what's your opinion? Be honest please!" Almost 100% of the answers were: "Let it grow! It really suits you better this way." Well, that's what I wanted to hear ... :-)
Believe it or not, this is a compliment, but you look like what would happen if Julian Lennon and Ralph Fiennes got busy.

I can well see why. The "new look" is a very lucky instance of an early "Awkward Stage" actually looking great! :-) No wonder you are getting nice compliments. Also, it almost appears that the longer hair is giving you a more youthful look. (This will come in quite handy later in life when you're 79 and only look 45!) :-)

I hope so, too. What I'm still unsure of is how my hair will be when longer. More wavy or even curly? What do you think? Right now, the front hair sort of curls up a bit, but the rest, back and side hair are quite straight, only the ends curl up around the ears if I tuck the hair behind.
He he, cool you look like a Beatle. :P It's a good thing you are not troubled by the akwardness and that shows you are very determined growing it out. It looks nice so far and it doesn't look as if you would experience much problems with it during the envelopement. Keep it up
Thanks for your comment. What bugs me most is just the front hair on my forehead. Quite nice when freshly washed, but quite chaotic after sweating... awkward stage I love you :-)
I think it looks good so far, and definately better than the picture you have of 'one month after haircut'.
You seem to me to look a bit like John Lennon.
lol, at least in awkward stage his hair looks quite like mine :-)
