If I stopped cutting my hair on November 9, 2005 when it was about 1" long. How long before it is long enough to put it all in a pony tail?
Jim WheelerProbably by Nov. 9th 2006. But at that time it will be a small Ponytail. There is much growth needed from the front of the head that needs to reach the back, and by then you will have just barely made it. (All part of the growing-out process.)
Just keep letting it grow and grow and by 2 years you'll be off to a very good start. After that, everthing gets easier and easier and you can grow a very long tail if that is what you desire.
ps: If you click on my picture above, look at the year 2004. (last pic on bottom row.) That was the length of my Ponytail at around 2 years from a "buzz cut."
Welcome aboard Jim,
You should be able to make a neat ponytail after about 18 months (assuming a typical hair growth rate of 0.5 inches/month).
Best of luck with it and drop by often.

give it a year. And by the way, long hair will DEFINITELY suit you.
probably a year or so to go until you can put it into a "good" pony
