I have a lot of flakes in my hair. I've seen those commercials how Dandruff is unhealthy. So what is a good shampoo I can use to get rid of it?
Many consider Nizoral to be the best treatment. Depending on where you live it can cost a little more than most shampoos (here in the UK it's about £6 for a tiny bottle). But it usually lasts a long time so it's definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Yeah, but can I find this product in a place like Wal-Mart?
I'm pretty sure Mark from this board bought his bottle from Wal-Mart. I remember comparing prices with him. I'm sure an American poster can confirm this soon...hope it works for you if you find some.

I used to suffer from chronic dandruff but it is no longer a problem for me now that i have longer hair. Instead of my sebum building up on my scalp and drying into dandruff it is being utilized in my hair to keep it soft and shiny. Problem solved. Scrap the products, they just cost money and make your hair very bad and you have to repeatedly use them to get results.
Buy a wide-toothed comb and start brushing those benefitial oils through your hair. It will also stop scalp itching.
I recently discovered amla oil. I massaged my scalp with it, left it in for a night, washed it out, and no sign of dandruff at all. Also put it on the rest of my hair, and it was soft and shiny.
Most anti-dandruff shampoos are very agressive for your hair. Some people even recommend them to get henna out if you don't like the colour, which says enough I think.
I also used to use Nizoral, it worked while I was using it, but when I switched to another shampoo again, the dandruff just came back. Also, I didn't like the way it made my hair feel, and it was expensive too (while the amla oil cost me 2,50).
