So I heard it was very aggressive with hair. What are the consequences from prolonged use? ...Based on my re-growth long hair attempt, I've used a small amount of Head and Shoulders twice so far. I hope I didn't do anything harmful. I stopped that stuff immediately and will just let my future long hair vanquish dandruff.
haha I might be a little paranoid.
Well it dries out hair very badly and with prolonged usage...let's not go there, a disaster in short!
I quit that stuff ages ago. If you spread your oils off your scalp into your hair you won't get dandruff anymore. I used to suffer a case of chronic dandruff but now that i have long hair dandruff is a thing of the past for me :)
Two uses, so I guess my hair is ok. Those uses were partially diluted with water anyway. Thx for reading.
I have also heard Head & Shoulders is particularly nasty. I won't dispute that it does what it says it does, but it may be one of those double-edged-sword products, like Cortisone: It's very, very good, but it's very, very bad.
I don't think a couple of applications would cause any damage. Prolonged use may. If I'm not mistaken, someone on this board mentioned that dandruff was much less of a problem with long hair. Actually, I remember reading an article that said sebum was not left to settle on the scalp and become dandruff, because it naturally wanted to flow down the hair.

I suffered from bad dandruff all my life. Then when my hair got longer what do ya know, the dandruff problem abated.

That's wise advice. Hit the nail on the head. Anti-dandruff products are just a corporate product to make money. Totally unessesary and damaging to hair. Nature is best. Nature always does things the best. Natural = long hair = scalp oils to lubricate hair length = no dandruff = happy :)
Exactly the same here.

I use head and shoulder all the time and I dont notice any damage to my hair... but then I have very oily hair and use of head and shoulder kinda balances things out. However if you have dry hair dont use it.
