hiya all,
when i see the progress pics of u guys i am nearly always very impressed ...
especially from the length ... so much of u have mid- to waist-length hair in only about 3 yrs ...
so i wonder if there are people here, who have hair, growing at 'normal' or 'average' speed ??
if yes - PLEASE post your pics too (maybe i should make the beginning - i'll take some pics for an other website so i should be able to get them in here in no time :)
it depresses me to see much longer hair pics within the same grow time :)
i am also at about 3 years but i am only at my shouldblades - so is it mine which is growing slow or yours which is growing fast ?? (i measured the length of my hairs and they have a length ranging from 36 - 44 cm, which is about average i think)
plz, normal or slow growing guys - post your pics !
thx for your attention and have a nice day,
ALH
I think my hair grows average pace. Although when i did straighten it yesterday it looked awfully long :)
My hair is approx 9-10 inches for 1.5 years. Maybe a little above average, but then again, i am young, healthy and clean living so what would you expect?
If you want insane hair growth , take note of the user "Eric". His hair is like a jungle and so thick for 2 years growth.
Does your hair grow slow or is it just because you have trimmed your hair several times in your 3 years growth?(which is an obvious setback).
Either way , we are all gonna get there in the end :)
Still, sometimes i am left dead on the floor when i see the outstanding, if not ridiculous, progress and growth of some of the board users. Some dudes hit shoulder length in under a year and a half. The user "Trevor" comes to mind.
Greez dude, lol.
lucky guy :)
except of sometimes drinking alcohol on the weekend i also can say that i live quite healthy ... but in my eyes it does help nothing - neither for hair health nor for hair length ...
i had several trims, that's right, but even if i add the length, lost by trims to my current hair length i think i am under average ...
hehe yeah i always say that to me if i get a depression my slow hair and sometimes it helps :)

I started growing my hair 10 months ago - it was very short, almost shaved, to begin with. I sorta feel its growing quite slow. Here is a pic just after washing, tho when it dries its much shorter.
hi pablo,
even if it's growin' slow it's worth to let it grow - we 'slow-growers' are the elite of the hair growing people 'cos we need alot more patience than the 'fast growers' :)
if you had a nearly shaved head than i think your growing rate is not so bad for 10 months - and always think about the fact, that there may be times, in which your hair grows slower ...
and to add 80's exact quote:
"Either way , we are all gonna get there in the end"
it will be annonying - especially when seeing other beautiful manes - but be patient and one day we also hit waist-lenght !
and a tip from me: care about your hair and avoid trims as long as you can !!
and find a barber/hair stylist/however it is called, who u can trust when u need a trim (e.g. of damaged hair or split ends)
happy growing and stay positive (even if it's diffcult sometimes),

I was going to post a thread about this sometime soon, actually. =)
Because I've been wondering too, how in the world do these people have mid-back length hair in 3 years? Mine's been growing a little over 3 years and it's not down to my nipples yet, but very close. I've only had a few trims (most of which were in the back during the awkward stage, preventing the mullet) but there's way I could've lost more than 2 inches from those trims, if that.
hehe i was faster :)
well i think we're about the same length - if i force my hair to the front (normally it's all on my back) then i'm also near my nippels ...
the only difference is that your hair has more volume than mine ... what i can see in your avatar is that your mane is great and of course it pays out to let it grow longer ...
if i put my hairs to the front it don't looks as good as yours 'cos i've generally fine hair and the front hairs are shorter than the hairs on the back ... (maybe that's the reason why they are normally on my back :)
well maybe it's a test for us by nature or misconfigured hair-genetic setup (hm do u notice i'm a lot in computers *g*) - on the other hand u must admit that it's no difficutly to grow hair long if it grows fast :)
unfortunately when i see people with long hair i forgot that thing with the difficulty and be mostly pi**ed of of my hair genes ...
btw: i also got some trims (about 5-6) so i also lost some hair there ... but even with that trims it should be a little bit longer imho
so keep it growin - ur mane rocks (and will rock much more when it's longer,

I don't think ANYONE can grow waist length hair in three years, unless they started with shoulder length hair.
I think that is a major portion of the discrepency. Some people say they've only been growing their hair for three years, but they mean it's been three years since the last time they got a hair cut.
How long was it when they started?
You say your hair is down to your shoulder blades. I envy you.
I started with a crewcut (my last military hair cut) just over three years ago.
My hair only reaches about 1/2 way between the top of my shoulders and my shoulder blades, and that's only when it's wet and hanging straight.
When it's dry and curled up and I have it in a 'tail it only comes a little below the top of my shoulders.
I thought maybe I'd hit terminal hair length, so I started measuring it back in Oct/Nov. It's almost 2" longer now, so it's still growing (slowly).
