Ok first off i've alterd my screen name as there is another Dave on here, and everyone calls me nuttidave anyways.
A while back someone mentioned the connection between longhair and rock music, and i was wondering if there is one with tattoos and longhair?
Personally, yes i have flames going from my wrist up my right arm, but my excuse is that i cycle a lot (200-300 miles a week) and race and it looks great coming out of my glove and looks faaasssttt!!! LOL. I do love heavy rock BTW, really into Pantera at the moment, but also into prog rock aswell.
Anyone else?
I think there may be a connection between the two but only a minimal one. I personally dislike tattoos and would never think of getting one. However, I do like rock/metal music and love long hair.
I disagree with any real connection between long hair and rock.
Personally I don't much care for hard rock.
I think there might be a minor connection between tattoos, piercings, and long hair. But that's only because sheeple (people that follow the flock and never do anything unusual) don't tend to do any of them.
People that are willing to buck the trend in one area are more likely to do so in other areas too.
For what it's worth, I have a couple tatoos and a few extra holes.
I also enjoy cycling. One of my tats is a dragon on the back of my calf. I choose that location because I thought it would look cool while riding. On club rides, some times one or two of the ladies in the pace line will mention that it looks like it's flying or something similar.
I once told my Dad I was considering a tattoo. While he didn't have an issue with my getting one, he did suggest that I ask myself whether I can see myself wanting a tattoo when I'm 60.
I was 20 when I told him I was considering one. I've yet to get one.
That's exactly why i don't think i will ever get a tattoo.
Tats are semi-permanent and i don't think i have any lifelong interests, hobbies, bands, names, logos, gimmicks, whatever, that i would want to indent on my body for life. People change but the tats will always be there.
When i'm 60 i might be a conservative, short haired jazz musician. lol, who knows?
if i get to 60 and my only regret is a faded tattoo (or 6...) i'll count myself lucky :)
I'm 62, and will turn 63 in September. Have 7 tatts on my arms, 4 on the left arm, 3 on the right arm. Just got #7 about 6 weeks ago! Life is art, and art is life.
There's probably no definite connection. It's just a matter of personal preference. I identify positively with all three elements: longhair, rock music, and tattoos.
I have 2 tattoos. I also have 7 piercings, all of which are in my ears.
Absalom
Well other then the longhair I have one tatoo, (that I designed my self) no off the shelf stuff LOL and I have a small earing, silver loop I guess. I am not sure if all is rellated but It is more personel choice. I work in a corporate invironment so the selection and placement of the items was a factor.
I have a Capricorn symbol on my left arm and an ivy tattoo starting at my right ankle and working its way up to my hip. My goal it to take it up to my neck and down my right arm.
Wow, sounds amazing.
Longhair and Rock music is cool yeah nuttidave Ive always wanted my nickname tattoo on my arm but ive never done anything about it though other than that its a BIG NO to having a tattoo done one my friends has five girls tattoo on both arms and thats and his current girlfriend name isnt tattooed is arms lol maybe tattoo number six !
Axel
I identify with all three aswell
I Currently Have 7 Tatoos, Long hair and Tattoos
ROCK N' ROLL BABY \m/ \m/
Think Music, The Hair and Tats go well together, Not everybody is in to all 3, but i would guess alot are. I Waited 10years before going ahead with the Tattoos I wanted. Its Who I am. feel like myself for the 1st time in years.
I Also have 2 earings in my left ear, the lower one Hoop with cross and plain hoop above that.
I don't really think there is a big connection between the two, but i may be wrong. Yes i love Heavy Metal as well and i love longhair, but i dislike tattoos. Also...not all heavy metal band members have tattoos, i think the minority probably do.
