I'm about to grow out my hair for the first time. Right now I have a standard fade, meaning the sides are shorter then the top and bangs. Before I begin to grow it does it make any sense to buzz all of my hair so I'm starting with a clean slate of an even length? Should I even consider evening up the sides and top so it grows more proportional?
I think that best of all would be to let all hair grow as it stands now. Hair has a way (if left on its own) to even-itself out over time. No trims or Even-outs necessary. In 2 years, those present "bangs" will come in VERY HANDY in making a good Ponytail. Good luck on your journey to longhair.
No, I don't think it would be wise to buzz your head. If you did, then when your hair finally got some length, it would be different lengths (the back somewhere near your neck and the front just going over eyebrows) and I think it doesn't look as good as one length
Nah dude, just let it grow. Everything will even itself out in time, particularly because the sides will have less time to catch up with the top, so they won't be as disproportionately long compared to them. Besides, you can always get a trim later down the line; don't get any sort of trim until about a year and a half or more of growth.
